Thumbs up Kwaka-Kid a Top Notch Bloke

    Hey Guys,
I know I dont make it on as much as I would like too, but I just wanted to say Thanks to Logan. Last week the charging system went out on my VFR400 and he really went out of his way to help me out, even gave me a quality used Reg/Rec and droped it off at my work. I also want to say thanks to Richard and Ian at Auckland Motorcycle Surgery, they also did heaps to help me get it back on the road ASAP. Really, everyone who is a part of the NZ morocycle community seems to do a good job of looking out for each other. And I think thats TOPS! So thanks Logan, Richard, Ian, Andrew, and all you other Kiwi Bikers.

The famous reg/rec probs of the vfrs. Ive replaced 3 and after the last one did some research as to why they fail. Mainly heat i suspect. fit a computer fan to the cooling fins of your reg/rec with power supply coming from your fuel pump and it will reduce the operating temp by about 40c. I used a thermal tester on mine and before it had a fan fitted it ran at roughly the same temp as the engine. nice one honda, put it under the seat where it gets no airflow.

Anyway mate you give me a call as thats only a temporary measure as it is a stock one, it will blow for sure, ive sorted us out and will have one of the ones i was talking to you about here soon for a reasonable price - also how did u get on with the stator windings etc? if they are stuffed let us know. Like i said i have one here for you and the tools and wont be riding so much so more time to do the job for you.
