    I get it.

Its my first post - so be nice.

I've always been a car nut, having built and tracked several cars. Over the years my cars got smaller and smaller, lighter and open topped. Currently driving a heavily modified, turbo'ed MX5.

My wife told me - be done with it - go get a bloody bike and at least that way you wont look like a hairdresser.

So I thought "What the hell" grabbed a GN250 (learners licence etc etc etc), some good quality satfy gear and went for a lesson and basic skills handling. no biggie.

Anyway - today was my first time "out on the road" - obviously not thrashing around the roads, but a nice cruise. I was expecting to enjoy it - after all ive driven all sorts and have a passion, but this REALLY go me going. I loved the feeling - the freedom, connection with the road etc etc etc.

So now (having wondered for so long) - I now know why so many people are passionate about their biking.

Looking forward to hanging out here on the boards and learning.

    C

P.S. Wife has also signed off on a large cruiser for when my 250cc limit is off - on the condition I let her have the GN - what can I say??

Welcome to the site. Under pressure, I commend your taste in cars although I'd like to point out that the MX5 in our household is registered to my wife I do drive it under pressure though

Hurry up and pass your test then avoid getting a GSX-R of any capacity. No-one will call you a hairdresser if you get one, but they will recognise that you've got a little willy

wow - 13 replies in about 20 mins. Do any of you guys do any work?

Thanks for the heads up on the 250 ride in Aug - I will definitely get myself sorted for that. is there a link or a specific place I should be looking for info on this?

Good point on getting the wife to get her licence now - the sooner shes hooked the better. Would you believe that she's the one getting the booklets on the big bikes??!!??! she cannot wait.
