    Highway Code quiz

I understand the theory test (which you have to take - and pass - before you are allowed to do the practical riding test in the UK) has been made harder. Also, the pass rate has been made harder.

The attached has a 10 question sample - you need 9 out of 10 to pass.

Just wondering how you will get on?

(I passed with 9 out of 10, btw)

If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

Only one wrong was to do with the speed limit "i may encounter" on a narrow street.

Only missed the dog coat thing.
Most of it is just common sense.

10/10 but then again, I am English and did both my bike and car tests there (many moons ago).

I think there are now about 100 questions in the theory test and you need 85% to pass (I could be wrong), but that's the easy bit. The actual drive lasts around 50 minutes and is pretty hard to pass. Then there's the maintenance section. eg. where do you check brake fluid levels, etc.

How does this compare to the test over here?

What brake fluid levels? I know many "people" who hardly know how to open the bonnet let alone fiddle with things they really shouldn't be fiddling with.......

Yellow coats huh - well obviously it wasn't for blind people cos then they wouldn't know what colour coat they were putting on the dog!!! Still had to guess that one.

9/10 but i had a couple of guesses - the rest were common sense.

    w00t!

10/10. Must mean I'm a real good driver, right? (well, according to the f'ing idiots that ran a TV show here a few years ago where knowledge of the Road Code equalled being a good driver).

Interesting question about the bike helmets. Of course, the real answer - Ignore the crashed motorcyclist and drive off - was not included.

Me too... and I don't know much about the Pom Road Rules at all... Mostly common sense. That narrow street one... Thought the answer should be "All of the above..."

Dog coats wrong and red routes wrong. Both of which I hadn't heard of and don't apply to NZ so I'm happy!
