Jeez this thread brings back memories! What a crazy, awesome, messed up, fantastic country! I didn't want to leave after two weeks of my touring in Thailand.

    Really interesting place.

sounds like the boys need to stay off all that curry and once a week have a dirty great feed of some internationally bland but normally the only thing guranteed non contimanted like macas. I've done a couple of trips there after living in Indo for 3 years and found the Thais to be quite slippery people, espicially in the tourist spots. Wicked fun though. The beaches, thai girls, drinking piss whenever and where-ever and at what-ever time you want, island hopping on these crazy boats, smoking stick and eating chocolate pancakes..... hell it was a heaven after feralling it about in Indonesian surf camps where a cold beer would be the same price as your stay for the week.... good fun, good times.

    Yep great place.

When I worked in Singapore, you were able to take Singapore registered bikes as far as Bangkok before you had to re-register.

Some very good rides were had on my F2 (some very scary too).

One ride, 4 days to Penang Island, one day back. No revenue collectors around that day, thank god.

From what i have seen..its very hard to get a bike into Thailand..
200% duty tax..and the rest of the shit it just goes on and on..
Have looked at buying a bike over there ..but they are quite expensive.
also parts seem to be a bit of a problem..
e-mailed a guy in Thailand and he said...break the bike up ..and send it to different adresses..
that sounds ok ..if it all gets there..
think the best way is to go through Kula Lumpa..
Have been in a Thailand forum for some time..
There are many guys out there doing it....
    Rides to Laos.Cambodia..Viet Nam. Malaysia,,,
Just getting the bike in..is a hassle..
    i will do it soon.....
    Cheap living.good food. BEER.

    Thailand and cambodia

I have spent some time there and rode quite a bit
best part was riding xr250s up Bokor Mountain in Kampot Cambodia. Thought I did well (was like riding a river bed in places) until 2 french guys arrived at the top on old road bikes.
Love riding in Thailand and I will look at buying a bike next time I go.
