I had a man in his fifties tell me that one day, I couldn't help laughing when he said that and the look on the guys face was priceless. I expected a complaint from the guy for laughing out load at him but it never eventuated, perhaps he felt a fraction silly?Originally Posted by Jackrat
hahah. Who would really think that a hat makes any difference, i mean your in a cop car and you'd at least have a uniform on minus the hat. Its not like the hat is wut gives u the authority to give out tickets.Originally Posted by spudchucka

It comes from section 114(1) of the Land Transport Act, which covers the power a police officer has to stop vehicles but says nothing about the power to issue a ticket.Originally Posted by Wenier
114.Power to require driver to stop and give name and address, etc—
(1)An enforcement officer who is in uniform, or wearing a distinctive cap, hat, or helmet, with a badge of authority affixed to it, may signal or request the driver of a vehicle to stop the vehicle as soon as is practicable.
(2)An enforcement officer in a vehicle following another vehicle may, by displaying flashing blue, or blue and red, lights or sounding a siren, require the driver of the other vehicle to stop.
Spudchucka does the traffic police have to get behind the vehicle an flash to make a legal stop? so if for example you did not let that situation to occur could you claim not to have been legally stoped? say for example you approach from behind lane splitting or speed catch up, see the police car and stay behind the police car can they pull you over for an event of illegality that was behind them?
As for the hat thing well I always thought if you asked for a warrent and they have one it dosnt matter if they are dressed as coco the clown? but then thats a UK rule?
I have a rader detector it cost nothing its called a brain I wear it under my helmet and it.
1. detects oncoming lights flashing
2. sees parked vans
3. spots falcons and Holdens with no tow bars or spoilers
4. rocognises open dry roads with no traffic in safe conditions
5. blurts and slows
6. have never had a speeding ticket on a bike ( but have done plenty of fun)
If I ever get a speed ticket on a bike the Brain will need a new battery.
Your never to old for a sportsbike
Dealing with an offence that happened on the road behind a patrol car is no problem. To effect a normal traffic stop the patrol vehicle should be behind the offending vehicle as in section 114(2), (see my previous post in this thread).Originally Posted by Redstar

Likewise. Common sense and riding with Your eyes open is the best defence against getting pinched for speeding.Originally Posted by Redstar

Yeah, before you all get going I already KNOW the above makes it sound like I drink more than I speed!!!![]()
I would lose my job a whole lot quicker for drink-driving than for speeding, plus you have a speedo to let you know when you are going 'over the limit' but the drink-driving thing is a little trickier.![]()
