    Concours in Canterbury

Well it arrived late today at work a nice shiny new GTR1400 Concours.

    It's a 50th Birthday present for a lucky bloke

Got to wonder how the missus managed to hide a $23g hole in the bank account

But he must have been a good boy to be getting a present like that

Will take pics tomorrow as it's put it together

Surprisingly it isn't that big in the flesh but geez that muffler is a doozey

Got this one sold and two people from the coast looking seriously at ordering a couple as well

Do you know the full specs on it? Kawasaki list most of them as TBA on their NZ site.

And what does it cost to swap out that zorst?

    There's some specs

    http://www.buykawasaki.com/Products/...specifications

And a full run-down on it

    http://www.buykawasaki.com/Products/...t=introduction

Dunno about the exhaust it's a beast of a thing, looking at it close up I'd say a unit of a ZX12R would slip straight on & improve the looks by heaps

And the last couple of pics as it finally saw daylight.

Definitely surprised at the size of the bike in the flesh it's a lot smaller than I expected though the mirrors are really WIDE great view though. The funny thing I noticed though were the hero pins on the footpegs you'd have to grind at least half the muffler out before those pins touched down. The windscreen being totally separated from the fairing cowl is a bit different, even though it's on 2 servo arms it sits about 25mm proud of the fairing.
The dash is simple & uncluttered and there's a power socket on the R/H side but it's beside the R/H headlight adjuster & is roughly the same size The onboard display is funny with it's tyre pressure indicator
Not sure how long the Bridgestones will last, I'm picking it'll have a health appetite for rubber.
Bloody nice bike and one hell of a lot of bike for just over $23g
A worthy replacement for the GTR1000 hope it stands the test of time like the GTR1000 did

Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome bike but if I was knocking around the 50 mark I'd seriously look at one for sure. As for comfy, it's plush, the seat is a beauty, everything is placed right and just where you'd want it. Only thing to stop you travelling would be fuel stops.

SMOOTH! but less nimble than the ZX14 when manoeuvring about slowly, but silky smooth once underway

Pffft The people ordered it on Monday, we got the deposit Monday night, ordered it off Lyntech Tuesday morning and it arrived Thursday afternoon. Put it together today and now it's sitting in it's owners garage that isn't slow old boy

They (the people who brought it) had been to see one in Nelson last weekend, duly saw the bike but were told they couldn't test it and were also told there weren't any available in NZ until the end of August

If I was Meanie I'd be grinning like a Cheshire Cat every ride
As for the ZX14 we've got 1 in the neighbourhood, but I've seen some interesting prices floating about which would shock a few
