Experienced biker wanted to take me + bike somewhere I can practice

Hi all, the thread title says it all.

I have a Suzuki GN250, and my learner's licence. I also have about 10 minutes riding practice on it- down my short street, walking it back up the short slope.

I want to ride it, but I need somewhere big and safe to do so- somewhere without traffic- eg: a large carpark or something with no traffic.

I know I'm asking a lot, considering I am so new here, but if any experienced riders feel like helping me get my first proper ride out of the way, it would be very greatly appreciated. I'll even chuck in a box of beer for the effort!

I have no transport (other than the bike which I can't ride yet), so basically what I need is someone with a vehicle that can take it, or someone who can take me as a pillion passenger and drop me back home.

Yeah, it's a big ask. If you have a better suggestion, please let me know.

Thanks for reading, and hope to be out there on the road with you all soon!

Drop me a PM some time. I know a few places that are pretty free of traffic on weekends. I'm happy to come over and pillion you out and back, if it'd help.

Hi Deviant. Welcome to motorcycling. You've done the right thing asking for help.

Kiwibiker has a mentor scheme for people just like yourself.

Here's the list of mentors. Any of these people will be only to happy to get you on the right track.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
