Yeah Chop, trying to work out how far I can go before refilling. How long were the laps at the GNCC and how long are the laps going to be at the Dead Toad is going to be the question. I would use the KTM for longer range but the gear box has spat a tooth some where. I want to beat my mate on his 200, but he is going to need less pit stops than me and is equal in speed but is going to need less pit stops.

And yeah, it does get expensive this racing bit. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get the MNZ licence because I'm just missing out on to many rides. At least this race is 3 hours long so that its a decent ride for the day. 2 hours or a days MX is just not enough to motivate me.

But the whole MNZ licence or day licence does make it expensive for us who only want to do the odd event.

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

all in start in a farm paddock- start line wide enough to hold 40-50 bikes on front row- dead engine start.
laps approx 45 minutes long- will know more after this weekend- exc's will go for almost 2hrs on a tank- don't think the rm will last for 2 laps- if your bike hasn't got a speedo with a stopwatch tape a cheap watch to your crossbar pad or have a good look at the electronic timing screen when you come in after the first lap you will know then if your going to make 2 laps on a tank.
    lunch break during a race?

Thanks Bill. Sounds like it could be close and a bit of a gamble to go for 1 or 2 laps. I know my mate will do two laps on his KTM. Think maybe I should have a look at my KTM and see how quickly I can get it running.......ah..... for my fat freind to use.
I meant like a bite to eat at each pit stop, jelly snakes or something?

Well just been on the MNZ website and they are currently 14 days behind in issuing MNZ licences, so it means a day licence for this event.
I was talking to Reckless yesterday and he mentioned that he thinks you can sign up for a yearly MNZ licence on the day which the club will send in on your behalf and let you race for the day. Can anyone confirm if this is an option?

    Hi,

Give MNZ a ring, I know I was looking at getting a license for an enduro beginning of the year & if I had club membership & could fax the form/credit card details through MNZ said they could turn it around in a 1-2 days.

It all fell through for me because I could not get the club membership, but the lady @ MNZ was really helpful I must say.

    Nigel

P.S. The Toad sounds a great event, I just won't be in the country .

Yeah thanks, that may have been the case at the begining of the year but I think its the time of year now that they are due. They reckon they have 3 full time staff processing them and they are still way behind.
