I found I would get uncomfortable within 200km when riding on SH1 or two-up. It's the subtle shifting of weight on a curly road that provides comfort, so if you can shift your position/weight forward & back on the seat it seems to make a difference. I also pop back onto the rear seat in towns to shift the pressure.

I did 1323 kms yesterday on two fills, ie 400, 400 & 500 kms per stint ( report here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/bl...9500&entry=239 ) and didn't have a problem walking up the stairs to the house afterward. That was on a stock ST seat with no gels or sheepskins.

get a fatter arse (hey works for me!)

The riding position and seat of the gsx are pretty comfy (compared to most sportbikes anyway).

The foam in your seat may be getting a bit tired if it's uncomfortable after only a couple of hours. Rider Custom Seats (pm Cajun) will do a foam replacement (of much higher quality and comfort) for around $200ish - well worth it if you plan to keep the bike for a while.

I think that 'personally' .... I could go on for about 9 hours and ..... 15 minutes on the right mount lol .... Butt I digress ....

I may have to trade the GSXF in on something a bit more adventuresome. I have been eyeing up a new Bandit 1250 ... however I am cautious not to let my GSXF see that I'm flirting with another bike .... I may have to save the "accessorising" for my new mount. Thanks for the advice.
Oh, you will fit just perfectly around here Double entenders are definitely the norm...

Bandits are awesome bikes, I"ve always had a soft spot for them.
Although, you cannot beat a Triumph Tiger or Sprint for pleasure for two...up that is!

The gel seat I have been quoted on were generally in the mid 300's...Good luck!

PS: the Bandit's seat could be more comfortable...

How do sheepskins do when they are wet? Just wondering what they are like to tour with if you are getting them wet one day, and hopping back on the next .... ?? Whats the drill ??

Yes that Rider Seat sounds like the thing to go for. I was wondering about sheepskins once they are wet .... I don't fancy sitting on a soggy set for 100's of K's.

Yes I was doing that Tom .... standing up .... but wasn't rubbing my butt !! I kinda thought standing up ridding up the motorway in the middle of the night in the rain ... at 110Kmh was enough !! : ) next time I may get brave !!! lol.

Just sit on the them. Decent weather gear stops your arse getting wet.

I know I didn't. Had that problem first GC I did. It was for that reason I went to a Rider Seat. Those who know me, know I ride on a tight budget and will do things myself if I can, but I have not regretted forking out $500 ta Mac for one of his seats.

In my experience you gradually get road fit over time, I practiced for the GC a couple of years ago and the difference was amazing, I went from aboy 200 km in a hit to maybe 5 or 600 just stopping for fuel and back to about 95% after 10 minutes off the bike. Corbin Seats are awesome though although they don't promote moving round in the seat too much sometimes which can be a problem. Never had a Gel seat and I've found Sheepskin (for me) to be a waste of time. Just stop farting about and get in to the groove.

Yep I will certainly look at that for my next bike .... I want to enjoy all my rides as much as possible so I think that makes good sense.

Are you at Planet Honda ?? I brought my Blue GSXF750 in there for a service just over a week ago. It's going real well ... but I think it could definitely be more comfortable.
Thanks for the advice on the Rider Seat. It has been mentioned earlier in this thread, so obviously has good following.
    Cheers,
    Grant.

Any "printable" advice please........ I'd like to get to the bottom of this.
Yep, had the same problem with my old 750F solved it by buying a VL1500 Boulevard
