Haha, I'm 21 'OLD MAN'. And I'd actually prefer gears on, she wouldn't look too good if we happen to come off.

Also, everyone on this forum is tooo serious, who cares if some one was riding without a helmet. "Oh shit, better call the police..... oh, and the ambulance aswell cos they might fall off!". Do you ever cook at home with the pot handle over the edge of the stove, leave a towel on the floor that someone could trip over and fall on their poor wee bottoms?

A lot of bother for nothing in my opinion, Crashe should be laughing at you guys and all the attention she's getting.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA This is fucking gold.... Agree with Drew, even though he is a loose unit... Half of the shit i used to do on KB rides i shouldnt have done... Its happened, its in the past, either you will survive or nature will take its course...

Its only when it endangers others that have no control of the situation that i hate... Passing on a blind corner??? Ive seen photos of bikes slicing through cars... How would you feel to fly through their windscreen and hit someones kid in the front passenger seat???

I was there so I will comment.
    This is a lynching.
Crashe should not have displayed riding without a helmet in front of newbies. However, several riders went to the petrol station without helmets and gloves. I was seated with some "old skool KBers" at the time and every one of us told crashe to her face that she should not nag others about no gear and then do the same. And that's where it should have ended. Crashe has ruffled feathers by being the overprotective mother hen and in return many of you have decided to make an example of her as pay back.
This is why I stopped coming to KB site about 18months ago. Because many of the latest members are a bunch of whining shit stirrers.
If I don't like someones riding I TELL THEM TO THEIR FACE
If I think someones riding is dangerous I TELL THEM TO THEIR FACE
The Crusty Demons influence millions of youth all over the world and do far more dangerous shit than Crashe.
This sort of thread is thoroughly disappointing, and as far as i'm concerned there are a few members on here who need to look up the word comrardery in the dictionary.
I was with Loosebruce & DSS3 when they died and will never condone riding without a helmet. I have also been a KBer for a few years and will never condone public lynching of a member who might ruffle a few feathers but has never endangered another rider by acting the goat.
Perhaps some of you need to get off this computer and go get a life???

    Lightbulb Well.

My 5 cents worth and its not aimed at anyone inparticular, just motorcyclists in general. Now I've had an accident when if I had have been wearing upper body armour including a spine protector, I might have not ended up in a wheelchair as a paraplegic. I do not think riding without the gear is a good idea, but at times we all make a bad call from time to time. Also riding without a lid is likely to cost you financially if the Police see you doing it. I also believe that as a seasoned rider we should lead by example, but in saying that none of us are perfect. I look back on the things I did with the naki crew on the CBR and are thankfull I did not wipe out on that as I would not be here to post this. Thats about it really, IL4 out.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

    Alright my usual sarcasm aside..

This woman speaks truth. There was a small ride to Kaiaua last summer and I sheepishly wore jeans to it, she showed her displeasure (in a nice way of course) and rightly so.. after i made out the pxt of an accident she showed me on her phone, well, I wore padded bike pants after that.

Tell it to their face, if you weren't there, pm or keep it to yourself imo

I was there too. If any of you have anything to say about Crashe you better go and say it to her face.

This is KB! We all ride and it is what we enjoy, its the ride and freedom and also taking your own life into your own hands. If you guys are going to take away her freedom and watch her with a hawk eye, then I say to you that you are doing KB a disservice. It is things like this that drives people away. And people that care and will educate the next generation and upcoming riders.

Fair enough it wasn't the best example. But can well all honestly say that we have always been a great example 100% of our lives?

If they are a new rider and they did the same thing they should get a telling off. Because they most probly don't know better. Crashe knew what she was doing and it was her call. Can she not have that moment of freedom?

Crashe, you rock as a person. Don't take the shit spewed up to heart.

To everyone else - it's her life. If she wants to ride from the petrol station to the chippy with no lid or protection - that's her choice. I'd wear gear, but again - THATS HER CHOICE. Leave her alone and go find something else to do.

Mom - if you've got a problem with Crashe - go talk to her - don't do it like this.

I'm not encouraging people to ride without gear, I'm upset at a mate being ripped to pieces on this thread.
Well said ...hey if anyone knows what its like to be publicly flamed on here its me. Doesnt feel good I can tell you. I have a pretty good idea what Crashe must be feeling about this thread. Shame people take so much enjoyment out of picking on others... seems all to common on KB though doesnt it?

How many bikes went down & why ?
Why was there 'stoopid shit' happening on a so called mentor ride in the first place?
This ride was supposed to be for 250's & others @ a sensible pace. What happened to change that ???
Again.. well said. If I wasnt sleeping off a night shift all day I would have gone, sounded like it was going to be a nice cruisy ride and the attending list was full of people I knew.

Im glad I did not now.

Crashe... your well intentioned and I like to think we are friends, but no helmet is irresponsible.

I will send you a PM...

    WRONG.

Newbies to anything follow like sheep - monkey-see, monkey-do is the way they learn.

And those just over 15 are as dumb-as to start with - all bravado and bugger all experience or self-confidence.

If you are right, the point has been missed... sounds like lots went down thats not a good example to newbies. And we have already determined Crashe is not a mentor.
I feel you are missing the point because it's not only about no helmet it is the standing with no hands look at me attatude. that goes with it.

So there were others who rode without helmets and going by another thread some of the bins were caused by riding to close to avoid others that went down in front of them and Crashe is the only one getting served up?

I haven't even seen the same sort of bullshit aimed at people in the past who've posted stunting pics on obviously public roads

What a bunch of self righteous pricks (oh yeah I once got a ticket for riding without a helmet obviously I'm a bad example, menace to society blah blah blah)

good point. Be interesting to find out what caused the 3 bins. ego perhaps?

I am sure after some investigation it would probably be found that it was some outside force that caused the 3 bins. Who knows.

Because it is against "kiwibiker rules" to post negative stuff about a ride. I am surprised Mom got away with this thread for so long.
Kiwibiker gives steaming impresssions that it doesnt like to have the negative side of biking posted for all to see.

The came out..? I thought the split in ability was pretty well managed considering the gap in skill levels there. The pace was sweet as in the slow group where the 250 newbs were.
If the ride was so chilled then why 3 bins?

Our rides down here have been on for 3 years and in 3 years we have had 1 bin and 1 dangerous overtake. The guy who overtook nearly taking out another biker got lynched by the rest of the group (myself included) and has never been back on a ride. Suits me just fine. I prefer it that way.

The guy who binned was riding outside his comfort zone and fucked up. Gave him shit too. He learnt that that kind of behaviour is unacceptable.

Its not about cotton wool. Its not about riding at the speed limit. Its not even about if you are stunting or not. What it is about is not taking up my riding time while I am picking you out of a ditch.
