I don't like ads featuring spotlessly clean, impossibly sculpured people with perfect hair that have probably never ridden a motorcycle in their lives.

Ads that speak to me feature....

Real people using the product in real conditions. Some way to purchase their product and some reason to act. ie special price this month... etc

OK - I'll stop doing my own modelling then. ;-P

I was thinking 'generally' too - not just bike specific.

There was a KBer featuring in the KR magazine at one stage (tyres of some sort). Well he didn't have a hair out of place.. Umm well he didn't have hair. I once saw him riding a bike though, he needed a stepladder.
If you love it, let it go. If it comes back to you, you've just high-sided!

I get a bit sick of those. Sometimes I'm in a respectable environment with respectable people, and I want to be able to pay attention to the ad without my companions thinking it's just for the porn.

Likewise KB actually - having OAB's avatar on the front page dramatically reduces my wish to open KB at work.

Free stuff, the price is right.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

Price isnt a factor for me - I'd gladly more (or less) if the service and product were spot on.

Im not a fan of ads that are creative for the sake of being creative...while they can be memorable I 'm always left thinking...now what the hell was that all about.

However in saying that - creative ads that invite curiosity by being relevant and appeal to intellengence, demonstrate goods/service benefit and that prove that 'I'm right' will always get my interest...regardless how creative they are and whether or not I need whats being sold.

The 'truth" (as mentioned by Terbang) is also a big "turn on."
An example of this for me are the TSB ads. "Banking made easy..."
The creativity isnt over the top but the relevance of those ads is so on the button that as an ex-banker working for the opposition - I was cringing every time I saw it...Largely because I knew they were right...and because of that - I wanted to go and bank there.

    I second that too!!!!

In still advertising I like ads that are visually crisp. A ton of visual clutter just makes me flick right past the page. Keep it simple I reckon.

The music can have a big impact for me, or at least make the ad memorable. I vote for the truth too. Finally, I am attracted to ads (and people) that make me think twice, or have multiple layers of meaning or interest to them.
