Hope they're still not working on it during the 2009 Southern X...

Why not invest the 14.5 million & use the proceeds to pay the tourist bus companies not to go out there?

Do you really think I would have let them go ahead and seal it without putting in a good word for bikes?
No, no no. This piece of road is perfect as it is. Please don't go and ruin the last remaining bit of SH1 that is still unsealed.

You'd rather all the tourists took their own cars/vans/campers up there?

Actually, they should take the tourists there by sailing ship. Then I'd join in.

Interesting. This looks to be 3-15 seconds earlier, I think. Sound about right?

Those are great pics. I'm always looking for pics of the road that I can use in publicity material like the web site: http://www.transit.govt.nz/projects/capereinga/

If you'd like future photos to include bikes, please send them to me! Especially any action shots of bikes on the Cape Road. PM me for details of where you should send them.

Our very own QKCHK is quoted in some of the printed material, putting in a good word for bikers.

it's a sad day they should leave it as it is
the reason i stoped taking my kids up there camping was there were to many tourists... now they are going to seal it to a great camping area coz it will totally wreck the place
