    86 trany for XL

    Is that true that the 84 countershaft is better for a 86 trany than a 86 one?
    Or maybe is just better for my dealer?! Ta

    Chuck a complete Andrews gear set, including main and countershafts, at it. Bloody cheap as in $600ish for a complete gear set from CC in the states.

    2nd and 3rd on those 4 speeds have a real habbit of lunching themselves.

    An 86 tranny would only be 18. Isnt that a bit on the young side?

    Agree,an They've come down in price.
    I payed $700 to do mine an yes it was second gear and a cracked selector pawl.Never be cheaper that now.
