Suzuki C90 Boulevard-2007-Exhaust mods.

I have just recently purchased the C90 cruiser and am thinking of putting a new exhaust system on it. Also installing a power commander or similar.
Is there anyone here in NZ that has gone through this exercise as I would realy appreciate any advice, sourcing the parts and the advantages gained. I don't want to go to loud but like a little 'Bark'

I also wonder why you are thinking of a Power Commander, the vl1500 already has a ecu controlling FI/Air/Temp/Speed etc.. and seems to handle things quite well, So unless you were unhappy with the cruisers performance ????? is it worth it? Having researched these things some time ago I find it hard to justify, especially as I dont ride a high performance sports bike

If you want only a little bark then stay away from V&H pipes, I put some on my bike and they are fucking loud!!! Yeeehhaaaaa!!!

Have you still got the standard pipes on your C90? I havn't even got my C90 run in fully as yet. I am looking forward to some decent weather and catching up for a ride with you guys at some stage. Went for a ride a couple of weeks back from city to Orewa. I enjoyed the ride so much I carried on up to Wellsford and back down State Highway 16. Very happy with my choice of bike!

I have checked out the VL /C90 forum and see that in the states alot of guys have done these mods. I only have put about 500 K on the bike so havn't even cranked it right up yet. The C90 sure has a lot of torque and responds well on those hills north of Orewa. I appreciate your advice. I coming up to the big 60 so maybe I should just keep things standard. Still got a bit of the devil in me though!

Nah I bought them online at www.cruisercustomizing.com, but for sheer ease of life, simply order them with your local dealer, much less hassle and to fit them is a breeze.

I reckon if you are around on the next cruiser ride you'll be able to see and hear a few different styles of pipes.

Yep, Ive still got standard pipes on, once I got it run in I was able to crank it up a bit and found quite a nice tune

Yep there is a ton of extra's available via the states (cheaper than getting through NZ dealers) we ride two up 90% of the time and find no lack of get up and go.. and by the way, sounds like we of similar vintage young fella :

I think Im up around 5500-6000kms at the moment, nearly due for a service,

A fine day would be a great help to get some photos. Certainly looking forward to catching up with you guys and I am sure I will learn a lot from you. I need a bit of noise to hear where the engine is at. Early days so I am sure I will get used to it. The reason I went for the C90 was I hope to get the good lady on the bike as well and do mostly two up on the rides. The problem, knowing my good lady, is she will want her own bike!! I have to pick a real decent day to take her for her first trip. A bit like sailing, you don't want to scare them first time out!.

Power commander will raise your horsepower a little bit.
Aftermarket pipes will raise it a little bit more,
K&N filter a bit more,
Hypercharger a bit more again.
Turbocharger will raise it a lot.
How far do you want to go ??
