If he is all the pissing around will be worth it cos if he gets max sentance he will have all day everyday to start thinking about feeling guilty, and if he has to do his thinking while playing someones bitch then all the better.

HI, had some emails asking why he is pleading not guilty. Thought I' let ya's know. He has previous driving convictions so this automatically makes it a more serious charge and reflects on sentancing. He has been charged with careless aggrivated (speeding) driving causing death and careless aggrivated driving causing injury. He is trying to reduce the charge to careless driving causing death. The difference being that careless driving only has 3 months prison and careless aggrivated has 3 years prison. However the cops have a solid case very clear cut lots of witnesses, so cops said he won't get the charges reduced but he will get a harder sentance cos he just proving he doen't give a flying fck about what he did, he just doesn't want to do time. He is just a spineless piece of shit!

Hi Lisa .. your right he is a spineless piece of shit,

it would be great if he would take personal responsibility for his actions & the result of those actions.. ohh but wait we are now living in a no blame no responsibility society .. lets hope the crowns case is tight, & the bastard gets everything coming to him, & more than 3 yrs in jail ( i reckon since he is pleading not guilty, if he is found guilty they should double the sentence for wasting everyones time, and causing his victims family even more pain and anguish)

Well what do ya know the spineless fck backed out again. The Pre-Deposition didn't happen, instead he has put through to have it transfered from the Rangiora court to the Christchurch court. We are under the impression that he is trying his luck for a easier judge. The case will be at Christchurch court this Friday between 10am and 1pm with what we expect will be a guilty plea this time as he had to indicate that to get the transfer. I don't know if he will be sentanced then though, I expect they will set another date. Heres hoping for max sentance inside not home detention.

Under what grounds did he get the case transferred?
My understanding is that a case can only get transferred if the person being charged pleads guilty.

But then I don't know everything.

I have met a few of the judges... some of them ride bikes, at least one even rides a bike to work. With a bit of luck he'll stomp this little faggot in the throat a few times... give him a nice holiday with 'Bubba'.

I'm terribly sorry to hear of your loss Lisa. I'm new to this place and hadn't seen this thread before... I hope the "defendant" shall receive a just sentence - but I do believe that the british commonwealth unfortunately abolished the half-hanged and quartered sentence a couple of years back

These hearings are public aren't they?

Perhaps a few people in leathers amongst the audience wouldn't be a bad idea... just a thought.

Hi, it is open to anyone wanting to go,but it is expected to be very short appearance this time round. The actual sentancing won't be done at the same time, they will set another date for this as there is alot to be put forward in the pre sentance report. Although saying that theres nothing wrong with putting the shits up him till then, after all a few leathers seeing who he is when he knows he's still gotta walk round town till the sentancing - might make him think a little harder aye.

I would go myself, but I doubt I'll be looking too menacing wearing my windstopper fleece and my slightly too long short haircut...
But Lisa you did read my mind - while I'm not for vigilante action, the possibility of it happening might bring about an uncommon spell of conscience.

To true. And I don't want anyone to take me the wrong way on that. I want him to make it to prison in one piece, the hospital wing wouldn't quite have the same effect as the actual prison. And "Bubba" is more likely to to visit his cell than his hospital bed! However once he's done his time he's fair game.

Well he finally appeared and stopped dicking us around. He pleaded guilty to careless aggrivated driving causing death and careless aggrivated driving causing injury. He will appear on the 12th December at 2.15pm at Christchurch Court for sentancing. I was sitting right where he had to walk past and was shaking like a leaf, took alot not to get up and wack him one. Luckily he was called early, don't know if I could have stopped myself if I had to wait for ages before he got called, just with all the tension building. Thanks SDU for coming along it was good to catch up. There was eight of us there, up front of the court while he sat alone at the back. He saw us all there for each other while his one mate waited outside. It is good that things are finally underway.

In regards to the 2 charges, he is being done for injuring his own passenger aswell (a 19yr old male). What actually happened when he pulled out was that he indicated and looked, thought he had time to pass, then his passenger who was txt on cell phone recieved a txt and steve directed his attention to the txt and the passenger, at this point he had been indicating for approx 30 sec, but he didn't take another look before pulling out to pass the vehicle in front, he simply put his foot down and pulled out quickly to complete the manuvure. He had overtaken 4 other vehicles this was the 5th vehicle he overtook in the immediate row of traffic. So I guess it depends what way you want to take it, deliberate or mistake I think it just stupidity of thinking he was cool, seems to be abit of an adrenalin junky. Fact is he has previous court appearances for his driving and it seems it was just a matter of time before he killed someone. By the way I was the one that was shaking!it is nerve wrecking being so close to the person that has killed someone you love. He had a quick glance at me a couple of times but then looked away. He didn't seem fidgety or shaky at all.
