Angry Damn You, Evil Biker Gods!

We were right, JRandom - the Biker Gods are evil and not to be mocked, Phark them.
I should've waited longer, because they're also STUPID and have short memories.

    $300 and 40 points.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Hah! We can start a '$300 and 40 points' club. If you show me your ticket, I'll show you mine...

Go on, share the juicy details so that we may chide you for your recklessness and/or commiserate upon the evilness of the Fuzzy Plodding Ones.

I do hope, for the sake of style, that you were travelling upon one wheel at the time.

I went on the "Ride North", and because the lovely Mrs FS was co-piloting, I was taking it easy. Ish. You know - sub-light velocities and all that.
And the road-racers left us behind, we didn't know where to go, so we took our own tourist route. As you do.
Coming back from a lovely visit with Mrs FS's auntie in Waipu, my knees was tired, and we wanted to get home to cook dinner and go out to a show (soon. Must hurry.) so we took the highway.
Got stuck behind a road pig (aka 4WD) and was getting buffeted about, so at the first opportunity, it was "Warp Speed, Cap'n!!) Got pinged by a Klingon Bird of Prey's photon torpedo. It was parked in some lay-by near Warkworth, and decloaked aft of us a few kms later. Warp 132, apparently.
The Klingon officer was actually very polite and amenable, but

    First speeding ticket since the last one (29 years ago...) {SIGH....}

That's not so bad, really. Mostly because Mrs FS was present, understands the reasons and is no doubt sharing in the indignation and misery, rather than sitting on the other side of the lounge right now feeling morally superior and giving you the Look.

You were a whole kilometer-per-hour less than I was over the limit, too. And in much less danger of murdering small children, etc.

I think I got more lawless-behaviour-per-buck than you did for the $300, to be honest.

Is Mrs FS going to add this to your motorcycling expense records for the year, then?

Pity they don't work it out at $2 for every MPH over the limit these days...

You shouldn't have said anything at lunch yesterday about your amazing good fortune. The Greeks call it "hubris". I think I may have warned you...

And as you know last weekend I picked up my first speeding ticket in 32 years. This synchronicity is spooky... What's happening out there???

Holy shit! Are the planets in total alignment or something why all this misfortune what with a few of the brothers & sistas having offs and now a couple of the brothers getting pinged lately?

Methinks I need to disrobe and prance within the meadows at early morn to gather the morning dew from buttercups. Then pour into a copper, add leg of frog, eye of newt and sprinkle with lizard testicle dust. Chant the mantra while stirring then drink the sacred potion to ward off evil spirits and bad luck.

Now you all know what to do next time in order to ward off bad karma and shit

Well despite your ticket & my bin, it was good to finally meet you face to face FS! - didn't look anything like I imagined you to be...there was no resemblance at all to your avatar!

I had the same experience. He doesn't *look* like firestormer, does he?

But then, I think I gave him a bigger shock by not looking like jrandom.

In fact, perhaps we should hand a prize to Milky for being the only KBer who, upon introduction, provokes an "of COURSE..." reaction.
