some of the more general insurance companies that does cars houses and everything else may reject you. should have no problem with one that deals only in motorcycles though. premiums vary by a lot, but you will probably get smacked with some pretty ridiculour excess

just for comparison, i am 24 on a learners with a $6000 insured value. my premium is about $330 but my excess its $1700, though that will come down when i turn 25 and lose the loser plates

Mate, you shouldnt have much trouble at all, just go with one of the insurance comapanies which specialise in motorcycles, you'll find threads on kb recomending various companies.

NAC, I don't think there's anyone they won't insure. Just about certain they're the most expensive out too! Read and heard lots good about Kiwibike and Starr, also try a broker, they take your details and call you back with the best deal they have, also, might add more $$'s than you have at this stage but I'd always have allowance built into the cover for gear incase of an accident. If your young or flatting you may not have house & contents finding the coin for a new helmet might be a mission. New lid if you come of is a good idea, even if you just want to treat yourself after a bin.

Good luck dude. If your in AK try North Harbour Insurance in Orewa/Warkworth, great service!
I'm selling my new riding gear!! Only worn a few times get a deal Kiwibikers!!
