    Venting my spleen

So to speak, just a little pissed of at the moment, imported my Bike from the UK and it had it for Rego etc, piece of crap failed the checks on brake discs (all three) and most annoying the less than 11 month old Hagon i had fitted last year is leaking, and also needs replacing. Bloody thing has been a pile of crap from start to finish and i seriously wish i had flogged it in the UK rather thn dragging sorry piece of rubbish half way round the world. Anyway it will probably be a good few weeks before i get it back as knowing my luck the parts will need shipping from the uk.

Anyway Rant over, and my advice dont buy a Triumph from my experience of this bike thier build quality is shit. Cos this one looks like an unripe lemon and certainly behaves like one.

Well made me feel a little better.

    Cheers

    Andy

dont tempt me, but on the grounds i would have to pay GST on the bloody thing if i sell it in the next two years. And it was with my usual luck damaged in transit so has some nasty scuffs so have to wait for the insurance to sort that out. Oh and the boss says i cant.

    Not good news.
Just to make your day, the brake parts are expensive. I think you will find that retail in NZ the genuine front discs are over $1000 each
If you have any contacts back in the UK who can get after market ones cheaper (or off the net ), then it may be worth following up.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings

    venting my spleen

maybe i should change the title of this thread to breaking for parts. I know triumph parts will be expensive was hoping that aftermarket would hopefully be more reasonable. Otherwise proving to be a right money pit poxy thing. I was looking forward to getting back on a bike after nearly eight weeks having not been able to ride.

Oh Poohs - bad luck you, and just what I don't want to hear.

My bike is arriving any minute now in my driveway after importing it from Brisbane. However it's an 18 year old Honda, and you can't kill 'em with a brick, so hopefully mine'll go straight through. It's just had a major service from my super brilliant mechanic in Brisbane so I'd be surprised if anything came up.

At least parts for mine are cheap as chips . . .

    Eight weeks with no riding!!

I've been getting withdrawl symptoms with only two weeks off the bike.

Thanks dude, made me feel a lot happier about selling my bikes before I arrived here. Ebay is your friend for parts. You'll be happy once you figure out how much stupid Kiwi's pay for $hite old bikes. And you'll be REALLY happy once you find out how much stupid kiwi's pay for $hite old BRITISH bikes. Punt it in a couple of years time for more than you paid for it and get your arse back on some fine Japanese metal.

Well quotes are in and prices are what i expected for aftermarket Brake Discs at about $900 NZ for the three, which from what i had looked at for buying UK and shipping and time taken to ship and costs of shipping is comparable really. At the moment the only concern is the deathly silence from Hagon in the UK regarding replacing the faulty unit under warranty.

Well Hagon have responded, and basically they will dispatch the damper section, just need to unscrew the preload and drop the spring off and refit spring. So all in all not a response from them. Just need to get it here.
