Bugger mate. I always do a background check before I buy any vehicle (https://www.vir.co.nz/). I hope for ya that it isn't a stolen bike or a written-off bike resurrected. Happen to Frosty. He brought the a VFR750 as a newly imported bike only to find out that it was my written-off VFR (my insurance wrote it off after I had dropped it unloading it off my Ute) with new plates on it (I recognised it as soon as I saw it in his garage).

I take it that the bike had been put through the system and was now fully legal again?

May the bridges I burn light the way.

If ya referring to my old VFR, it never was illegal. The seller had brought it from auction as a written-off bike legally. Repaired it, re-reg'ed it, and (here's the dodgey bit) sold it on as a new import (naughty, naughty). Had I not seen it in Frosty's garage he would have never known otherwise. A VIR would have shown up that it had been written-off though.

Awesome ta hear ya found the previous owner dino3310
