bt 45...021 tyres

pilot road tyres are they as good as people think ...I had pirelli sport tyres on a gsx 600 after changing from a bt45 on the rear.
I was not impressed with the rear tyre at all unless it was dry road then yes quite good ...however low milage means then having to replace, so get a new bt 45 and absloutly brillant.
now sold that gsx and have a bandit 1200
It has michellin sport road tyres ...yet again im not really impressed ...I have felt thee rear tyre move a bit at slow speed(40 km ) on dry road reasonable lean on and not very much throttle .
I ve seen the new bt 021 and at first sight i thought " thats a tyre "
i will get and try see how they go .
Ive never had a bt tyre move at all out of place on the road so maybe there a more trust worthy tyre .

I rode down SH22 with BT021 front and BT020 rear. What I noticed was when I really pushed it the rear would start to slide but not quite let go - nice to get a wee warning. But they are Sport/touring tyres and I wouldn't recommend them if you're gonna be hard out in the corners. They wear well though.

I've run Battlax 020s on three bikes and have been underwhelmed with them on all three. They're pretty much old generation sports touring tyres lacking the superior wet/dry handing and wear characteristics of the dual compound tyres all of the other manufacturers have introduced over the past three years.

I have no personal experience with the Battlax 021, which is the new dual compound replacement for the 020. I note that these are OEM on the Kawasaki Concours, but that in itself is no reason for great excitement. Reviews I have read on the new Battlaxes seem to query their wear characteristics. Certainly the old 020 rears were shocking for squaring off after about 6,000km.

I suggest that you experiment with tyres on the Bandit 1200, but I would recommend the Metzeler Roadtec Z6 as a good place to start for a bike of that type. You should notice a dramatic improvement in performance and riding confidence compared with the old Battlaxes.

I dont really ride hard out but do like to get in to cornes at speed i can handle
If anybody looks up the bt 021 on the google and view some pics of the tyre especially the rear tyre then thay possibly may be thinking like i was when i saw it ...."it looks like a really hi tech tyre"
Reminds me of a lot of the really expensive tyres out there but with out the price tag
They Just look like they work
compair to the old pattern of the 020 and i think its a really up to date thing

I'm happy with the 021 on the front - just the 020 rear isn't worn enough to justify replacing it with an 021 quite yet.

Thats so true about them squaring off the bt45 does as well and them seem to just keep going till over night they finally dissapear just about get as much riding on the square as you did on them new ...haha
