Ain't it time for Monster Garage to customize a bike?

We all know the main guy on Monster Garage, Jesse James, is into making motorbikes right? Why haven't they decided to make a monster out of a bike? Wouldn't it be awesome if they did? I would like to see a Sport bike i.e. a RSV1000, be modified to jump over 10 buses, or something like that.

They made that truck trike that was going to be a bike but the engine was too big...... and he turned up in one of the episodes on a RSVR..... Im not a big Harley fan, but what he makes is just fucking awesome........

Um....we're talking Jessie James here right? have you seen the bikes he makes? Don't expect him to go near a RSV1000 (what ever that is,a bike I presume) without a gas torch and big hammer, destruction, not reconstruction.Did you see the trike they made out of a Peterbuilt?,that was a good one.

Mr James comes across as a real dork and I take an instant dislike to the guy - from what I've heard to whole thing is a set up,reality TV,they make conflict and prod it along.I think Jessie is not happy about what goes on,he's kinda uncomfortable with it all,and doesn't like stupid builds pressed on him.He was really stoked when they did the chop and channel with the old rodders a few weeks ago,you could see he was in awe of those guys. That was the best one I've seen. But the guy can work metal, transform a bike into art, gets my respect there.

I read in an ADB mag that some guys put a twin-turbo in an old dirt bike. They had to detune it so they could steer the thing.

You guys need to watch that American Chopper show on Discovery...I've only seen it a couple times but was thoroughly impressed at what those guys can do with a few bits of metal....fabricating their own frames and swingarms, welding up custom tanks and exhausts - they pretty much make everything except the engine and wheels.

    No need to shout dude!
Jesse James apparently built up this custom VTX1800 for American Honda

He has also been reported as saying he wanted to build a bike to win Daytona! Go on son, why not....

    Would be nice...

to see a show where they take a stock sportsbike, and mod / kit it to the max (you know, the full works of exhaust, PC3, nitrous, etc). You could spend twice as much on mod's, than the bike originally cost. It's quite incredible.

Monster garage has nothing on scrap heap

    Hi all,

Monster garage is rarely firing on all cylinders. Scrap heap - they get the day, no money and a pile of scrap. Yes, you get conflict but you also get to see some real time engineering problem solving (and also some miracles of bodgery).

Actually they make bugger all of it Hoon, they buy in all the accessories, swingarms and frames, even the tanks etc, then they send it all off to the painters and and get the wheels custom made, personally I am quite disappointed in american choppers in the lack of talent they have, they seem to think up ideas then get on the phone, pretty much sums it up, I've taped nearly all the episodes thus far.
I am totally in awe of the guys who custom made the carburettor in the firefighter bike, and the guys who do the custom painting, just amazing,

They had some really rad frames but their website has closed down.

Yeah toads, they assemble parts - but someone does the stuff for them.I really admire guys who can work metal like it was a mallable material like clay.Like mechanics, panelbeaters have had their trade dumbed down - oh sure,we have had to smarten up on the tech stuff, but hands on skills are no longer needed....actualy allowd,it's a crime to repair, literaly.Gone are the days when a panelbeater sat down and with hammer and dolly turned a crumpled guard back to it's original shape with just a thin film of bog,if that - in days gone by they would use no filler at all.As for making a panel from scratch, forget it.

Scrapheap Challange - that was the one,I soooo wanted to do something like that, thinking on your feet, making something out of scrap - I still enjoy doing things like that - but it's for me only now.My boys taped nearly every Scapheap show,we still watch them.
