Thumbs up MotoX South Island secondary schools report.

South Island (and Southland) Secondary Schools MotoX at Tapanui. Fine day with high NW winds.
Flattish track due to the 'trails grade' riders. Good open racing.
First pic. shows a Dad who manages a Honda workshop working on a Suzuki trail bike belonging to a rider from South Otago High School. Bike needed a new spark plug. Second pic shows the transponder attached to Craig's bike. Each lap the transponder lets the organisers know what time Craig managed to do. I like the start line pic.
The final pic shows the #17 in the Trail Bike Section 'Winner on the Day' for me.
A student from Waimate High School who stopped to lift the bike off the rider behind when the latter crashed and became pinned under his/her bike.
Seven other riders rode around the downed rider and #17 stopprd, parked up and helped this rider out from under the bike, thereby making the racing safer for all concerned.
#17 lost what ever position in the race, it is good to know there are people around who know to do what is right.
Good on you #17, you deserve an ice-cream. Cheers.

When you take thousands of photos of your bike does the light from the flash weaken the plastic?

Took the camera out to the South Island Champs at Orinoco in November last year and some of the ankle biters were scary fast.

Ha ha would have though that ice cream was the last thing you would need down there at this time of year.
Naseby is a cool place, both literally and metaphorically. I raced a National MTB Cross Country race there in January one year and it got down to 0 degrees over night!
Very beautiful and lots of interesting stuff like the old Chinese graves and the Ida race.

Twice the displacement, twice the cost and a decibel problem, I'll pass on the inside brraaaap!!!

Yep, Dangerous, can get chilly. Keeps the 'cool crowd' away! Only the knowledgeable like you and I bother. Keep the blacks down on both types of bikes. Cheers

I bet you got some cool trail rides down that way eh? Over the Ida range and around Poolburn? Is that somewhere you can ride? Or do you need road legal bikes? Poolburn is awesome. I worked there during LOTR.
