    Great weekend

I got a bit tired of surfing negative posts so......

We had a great weekend, started off at the Kings Arms on Friday night, took a cab so we could have a few, saw Airborne play, freakin' loud, damn good AC/DC-type band. Very tight, great night. Up at sparrows, rode over the Hauraki Plains to the Coromandel region, met up with some familiar faces and toured some sheds. Ended up in Waihi just on sundown, downed a few and had a great ride back on Sunday.

Saw some amazing bikes, met some equally amazing people and generally had a blast. A very cool motorcycle-oriented weekend and these pics are the tip of the iceberg.

....and what fun things did you get up to?

Agree with your comments about neg. comments! Great ride and write up. You've seen some interesting bikes. Thanks for the pics and the post. Cheers.
When you take thousands of photos of your bike does the light from the flash weaken the plastic?

Cheers. That thing on the left is a 1902 Clement. Just a bicycle with a motor strapped on but you have to remember the roots of motorcycling and if I have my stracts faight Mister Norton was involved with these things. It looks like I'll be doing some research.

The Panhead was a show winner in its day, now covered in bird crap and hay. It looked a bit like Fonda's thing when he pushed it into that barn to fix his flat tyre and it got left there for nigh on forty years.

There were BSA's, Matchless, Norton, Velocette, Shovel's and so much more. I could have stayed all week.

The Hitchers clocked up nearly 700km this weekend. And as well as spending time in each other's company, we were able to remind ourselves of the quality friendships we have made with bikers over the past five years, some of whom have let us share special places and times in their and their families' lives.

I am a very lucky and privileged fellow.

    Well said
Did I read somewhere that you were in Woodville sometime on Saturday?

So were we (Carissa and I), we decided it was such a nice day here in Hawkes Bay that we would go for a little ride, we headed south, stopped for a cuppa in Dannevirke and continued South

We hit a bit of drizzle in Woodville, but kept going to Masterton for some late afternoon lunch and turned around and headed back just on dark.

A magic moment for us was heading between Pahiatua and Woodville on the return trip, the sun was setting behind the ranges, and this made silhouettes of the wind turbines on the horizon, the clouds were stormy and black, but the sky looked as it was on fire...Brilliant

    It was a great ride

Seen one clip of Airbourne on the box. First thought was of a young Bon Scott, and Angus Young.
Are they a Aussie group, or a (god I hope so ) Kiwi crew?
We need more bands like The Have, Datsuns etc.
Glad you had a great weekend.
