Calendar bit all done, I am looking forward to catching up with the riders from the wwwww and the mmmmm and meeting the riders who were not on those two rides.

I am keen on the Passes ride

I just need to wait for the guys that are organising it to come back with some definite dates and route etc, then I will commit, but at this stage it is looking very good

I am free on Tuesday night, it would be good to catch up, I need to warn you though that in the Naki - Diamonds (Mitsis) are for girls, real men follow the stars (Subarus) - and I dont have a pic of my sub at work to put up :-(

Today I went and did a bit more of the ride closer to Raglan. Everything up that way is sweet, and I checked out the Accom while I was there.
I have tried a few other roads which may or may not tie in to this ride. The old Kawhia road has quite a slip on it,(been there about two years) and I don't think they plan to fix it as there is an alternate route, and the ground base looks very soft, and unstable.
I was going to try and get the Scrambler through by myself, but I erred on the side of caution, as there is little room for error, and the stream 12mtrs down isn't very inviting. However, a few helpers just to get it up through the soft bit, and it should be no worries.

So from the falls, I shot through Waimaori rd. Hope to include this road, as it flows nicely. Then through to Ruapuke Bch, where I found DOCs new wire cable fence. Can't complain, as the dunes are in good nick now, and migrating birds have started nesting in there.
A quick thrash around the seaward side of Mt Karioi, into Raglan for a snack, and fuel and then back around Karioi on the East side.

Pic 1 Looks minor, but the entry, and exit points are narrow and soft. Too scared to do it by myself.

Pic 2 Not the most inviting area to end up in.

Pic 3 Ruapuke just waiting to be carved up.

Pic 4 Curses. It goes a long way to.

pic 3 Manu Bay was quiet. Few surfers hungry for a wave.

You can get around the slip on the Bridal Veil Falls side of the Kawhia Rd by crossing the farm and stream.....the locals do it.

This is how I did it last year....

Hey Motu, long time, no hear. Good to see your still about.

Yep, I saw the stream, but after the recent rain I was pretty sure the Trumpy would have gone "submarine" on me, and its a heavy slug to deal with. (was thinking lately of something like your Dt, or even a cheap Chinese beast to drag abound the region).
Hope you get a chance to do some rides this summer, I'd like to finally meet you.

tri boy you certainly had good weather for your ride looks just a wee bit better than we experienced today but we had fun all the same.

I'll see if the parts have been ordered for the DT230 tomorrow...if Junior isn't sleeping off a night attending the derailing.You should of heard it man....I was just dropping off to sleep when it happened,I knew something big had gone down but didn't know what.

I'll be out running in the XT621 some time on the weekend.....might go down to Oparau....

No! He's the parts guy in the bike shop....and also a volunteer.....the siren went a couple of minutes after the derailment.They would of been on duty most of the night.
