Right, booked into Awakino, I selected the penthouse with views of the Mokau camping ground so I can scoff at Windboy in comfort.

Travelling down Friday from Auckland, My initial thoughts were to leave early Friday and follow the coast down so thats a 7.00am start and get to Awakino by 6.00pm (yes, I know, nana pace...) However I am open to suggestions. Bass sounds like he wants a late afternoon scoot down the sealed roads.
Any others coming, going or meeting in between?
    Any other times/ routes?

    Maps.

    Hi Ian.
Still trying to get a decent online map happening. Hope to have it sorted soon.
The scale/size ratio is awkward, and I'm shit at this stuff.
Will post something this week, with some road names etc.
Tried Quick Maps, and I'm not keen to scribble all over my nice Land Survey Maps. Might copy, mark out, and scan them.

    Bump.
Things are shaping up nicely guys.
A bit of an update. Fri, I plan to head to Owhango, meet up with Ian S, and sneak into Tauramanui via the old Hikamutu Rd. bvaut should be meeting us at the BP in Tauramanui between 1.00pm-2.30pm.
From there we are taking some more back roads to Ohura, and through to Ahiti via Waitaanga, Kotare, and then a quick run up hwy 3 to Awakino.
Young1 will be on his way up the same hwy, and the Auck crew will meander there way down through Waikato/Waitomo.

Next Monday I am doing the final Raglan accom sort out with Jeanette. (looks like we will have room for Ten, so its all good).
Now I all I will need to do is get a few cartons to the Raglan digs, and change the Scrambler rear tyre. (Gunna try the Mitas E-07).

    Hi Scott,
For online reference maps, I'll stick with those in post #5. They show 90% of the intended routes.
For the actual riders on the weekend, I'm going to scan the master copies I have, and hand them out at Awakino. Theres a few intersections up the back of Waitomo that can be a bit confusing if people havn't been through there before, and I would like everyone to have their own copies.
Thanks for the offer. And if you, or anyone else can make it to this ride, they are more than welcome. Looks like there is room to add 1-2 more. Maybe Quasie, or some one else in the Waikato who can't do fri night, might like to meet up Sat night, and do some Sunday riding with us.

Popped out to raglan this morning on the Daytona, (wicked weather/ride by the way).
Sorted out the payment for the house. We have secured the top main part that sleeps six, and one of the two bottom apartments that sleeps four. I hope to rustle up 2-4 out of Hamilton to stay as well, which means have the whole property to ourselves. So will PM a few people this week, as Jeanette will only hold it until this Sat for us.
As you see by the pics, we will be roughing it.
The beds separate into singles for those who may have concerns.

Very timely Triboy, I was just wondering how the whole thing was going.

The DR has had a full overhaul in preparation (kicked both tyres and poked the chain) and even got a wof, what more could you want!

I understand you're giving lessons on the correct pronunciation of "Waikato" so we don't offend the locals....I still don't understand why you just don't call it beer like we do up here tho.

All you need to know is Tainui rules everything, and there is now an armed sentry point at Nga a wa he a, so best you slip through at Limestone downs.
Oooh by the way, I have a cunning plan afoot for a shindig out at Kawhia this summer also.

Don't think so. Raglan is good for linen, but maybe contact Awakino. I wasn't planning to. I'll phone Awakino today just to confirm numbers booked, and check re linen.

Just phoned Awakino. Linen is all supplied. Fuel station up the road is still operating, and we have enough rooms reserved. All systems go.

Couple of long range weather maps to see.
Fri looks like showers around the Naki, Waikato. But Sat/Sun look pretty good.
