    Selling my bike question

I am going to sell my 650 vstrom, either trade me or someother place.
2005, about 34000 k's, mint condition with venturer pack rack.
Serviced by suzuki agent, blah blah
Want to put a realistic figure on it and sell quickly,so was wondering if first to try retail price same as similar bikes in shops or find out trade in value and ask a bit more.
What about tyre kickers who ask to test ride?a few years ago my neighbour let his trail bike be test ridden and it was stolen.
Guess you could ask for photo ID ,passport or similar.
Do other vstrommers think $8000 would be realistic price or too cheap.
Comments on trade me v bike magazines would be appreciated.
Now the bit that will generate comment.
I am keen on a Honda VFR 800.

When I sold my bike, I held on to the other dude's keys (I made sure they were from their car / bike beforehand of course) So they couldn't just gap it.

However It's really not recommended as the 'test pilot' can bin it. The only reason I allowed test rides on my old one was because it alread had it's fair share of learner scars.

You could ask for some sort of security before hand, and make sure they know before he rides it that if "he breaks it, he buys it", another way is to make sure they have cash before you let the test ride it. Its up to you how you do it, Im just offering some recomendations.

I have been test riding a few bikes over the last few days from private sellers and have been turning up with a significant deposit which the seller keeps in is hand. I would expect no less, you bend you spend are the rules. Also the feel of a bit of cash in the sellers hand makes them a little more reluctant to part with it so hopefully a better deal will be accepted.
