They took my precious (hunched over, rubbing hands)

Got the bike towed away today, in a rather strange fashion. I was expecting a small truck or Ute, but seemed ok in the end.

Sawyers won't be able to give the insurance company a quote till Next Monday, so the Rally aint looking good.

    Will keep you all posted.
    Dave.

I'll pop in and see her on my way to work tomorrow, then.
    This is really heartbreaking, mate.

But surely we can find a way to get you there? After all, it may not be anything *that* bad...?

I was just in at Sawyers talking to Brendon about your misfortune. He told me how well you looked after your bikes describing your immaculate CB250R. I feel for you mate. Only las April I wrote off my beloved TRX all I have left is a bunch of photos, a broken footpeg and a bit of fairing on my desk. Oh yeah and an immaculate set of stock mufflers I should sell sometime.

    Yikes

I didn't know I could worry about anything more, but thanks to this I am. I hope the tow straps don't do any damage..... Ohhh, I feel an ulcer coming along

Knee and thigh are still sore, I am called "hop-a-along" at work at the moment

I tentatively (with some apology and reference to a certain unpleasant incident a while back) asked Sawyers if I could get a loan bike. hehe, I'd be happy with one of those Sedgeway things :cool2:

That's a really weird way to move a bike, normally they'd just come round in their ute, roll in on, strop it down and away they go.

You weren't just parked illegally were you as a passing tow-truck driver has thought to himself that'll be easy pickings.
I'd ring sawers and make sure they have the bike, if they don't it's probably down at the local tow-yard. :disapint:

    Re bike transport

Is it just me(it often is), ah, theres no way I would allow my bike to be moved like that, would be keen to hear what Jackrat(professional Vehicle recovery) and Jimmy (Bike shop Dude) have to say about it.

I know BM, thats sorta what I was thinking, Ia'm not exactly a stranger to the whole bike recovery thing, But I have never seen it done like that.

Oh god, my ulcer just burst through :P

Well, it looked quite secure when he left, and I didn't know that it was that bad at the time. If it did hit anything, it would be on the already damaged bits. But, the tow strap was on some of the paintwork.

sigh... I actually don't care anymore, till I get it back. :sneaky2:

Don't want to panic ya but ....

I had that outfit tow my Escort years ago (85) ..... ended up denting the front and the side while they did it ... .... they denied all knowledge and said it was already like that !! ... they are a pack of C*&#@ .. .. Good thing you took pics !!! I hope the wee thing made it OK .....
A man can move much faster without a millstone around his neck, so if he gets the chance to lose her he'd better drop her and run like heck !! .. (10cc "Modern Man Blues" - Deceptive Bends)

how come it takes so long for the assessor to assess the damage I wonder?, it seems pretty straight forward as to what needs replacing/repairing. Maybe I am being overly simplistic, but you would think that it would be relatively straightforward to get all that part over with and then get the bike off to the repair shop.
