Their lease situation, whatever it may be, is not really any concern to us talking shit on the net. If they are there in january fucken good on them , if not we all loose a good spot to get some kai and coffee.

Im not sure what the ponsy million bucks per coffee places in town are like because i don't really go there but I have been to most cafes in Upper Hutt and I can say that both the previous and current incarnations of the summit are the best places to sit dawn, lax out an get caffinated in Upper Hutt.

Nostalgic memories for Rimutaka summit stop!

    Well, good on them.

I for one will visit them next time in the area.

I might even make a special trip up there just to support them. (token gesture)

I have many memories of the summit, especially as a small boy, riding in cars and trucks.

Just getting to the top of the hill was an extraordinary long hot or cold trip that took forever!

Almost all the vehicles on the road were boiling or grinding away in low gear.

Some even had to turn around and back up the steep bits if they were too loaded up!

It just doesn't seem natural not stopping at the top for a break, even though it's only a short trip these days.

Can you imagine how narrow and twisty it used to be in the nineteen forties!

In the fifties we used to go up there on our old bikes, just like you guys do today. (not as fast though)

The Rimutakas have always and hopefully always will be a great ride on a bike.

I think that this is really good news. Cheers John.

You'll need to take the coffee with you.

Can someone point me in the general direction of where the Rimitaka Summit is. My bike seems to have lost it's way to there.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker
