Thats stunning - congratulations to her, team and supporters
Way to go K.P
She'd get my vote to for sports woman of the year too but somehow it probably won't happen. They barely rate womens MX, or other top motorsports winners, it isn't main stream enough for the powers that be.
SEPTEMBER 3, 2007: She’s done it again.
Auckland’s Katherine Prumm is woman’s world motocross champion for a second straight year, dominating her rivals at the final round of the world series in the deep sand of Lierop, in the Netherlands, at the weekend.
The 19-year-old Kawasaki ace from Bombay, in South Auckland, had started the weekend one point behind fellow Kawasaki rider Livia Lancelot (France) but, once the gate dropped at the weekend’s Dutch GP, there was really only one rider in contention.
In both races, Prumm (Molson Kawasaki KX250F) beat the second-placed rider, Irish Yamaha star Natalie Kane, to the chequered flag by more than 26 seconds.
Lancelot finished ninth and fourth. Lancelot’s performance was, however, good enough to give Kawasaki a 1-2-3 result on the championship podium with Prumm No.1, Lancelot second and German Kawasaki rider Maria Franke taking the third spot. Franke finished fifth and third in the two races.
“I’m absolutely stoked,” said Prumm afterwards. “Because of all the extra support I received from Star Insurance, New Zealand Motorcycle Trader Magazine, Kawasaki New Zealand and help from SPARC in New Zealand, I was better able to prepare for the series.
“My preparation was much better this year. I spent the last three weeks here in Holland and had my dad (Erich) and brother (Matthew) here to help me too. Molson Kawasaki were awesome in everything they did with the bike.
“I was very relaxed all week and the bike ran like clockwork.
“It’s fantastic to hear the New Zealand national anthem play when you’re on the other side of the world.”

Top work! But will we see any of it on the news? Not with the World Cup about to kick off. Another Kiwi champion that won't get the recognition she deserves...
Hope I'm proved wrong - it's an awesome achievement!
