That's kind of reverse logic Coyote. The rules actually work the other way round. In order for a bike to be entered in Superbike races the manufacturers must have produced a certain number for sale to the public. For GP they are given some paramaters to work to (such as the current 800cc 4 stroke spec) and are left to make the best bike they can. If they choose to market the product that's up to them.
The point I'm making is that this is the closest thing to a GP bike to be ridden on the road since RG500's etc. were available.
And the V5 question was rhetorical - to the best of my knowledge Ducati are the only manufacturer currently making a road going GP replica.
Buggered if I'd know what the f**k to do with 190ponies under my arse though.

The styling is rather plain compared to my VFR though don't you reckon?

Dunno, but it looks like you can.
My VFR is the '94 R model which has the blingy look about it, fancy NACA ducts and all that stuff with lots of silver alloy showing sort of NR-esque (coz that's what they were mimicking then) so that Ducati is plainer like the first of the VFR 800's.
I still reckon it would be a good buy at around $100k. Finn you'd get one wouldn't you?
Cheers
