And I would say to trust jrandom over me any day. Poor slobber over here is very green, and should be discounted whenever possible.

    jrandom, enjoy nightwish?

Well it comes down to personal preference in my books. Having mates with both. The RGV150 is about 15kg or so lighter and is much quicker, but then being two smoke is higher maitance. The FXR has a nice digital speedo and is very good on the gas, something like 350-400km to a tank if I remember right.
Life is difficult because it is non-linear.

The FXR has a 15L tank, and I think the RGV is only 7L. It is good only having to stop for gas every 400km.

    Ha ha. Great post

Do you read AMCN? Remember Boris's first column? Opening statemene went something like "Fairings are for poofters. Big buttery ones who like rough man-sex in seedy public toilets"

Laughed my arse off reading that column, then they had pages and pages of letters to the ed for months afterwards.

The newer ones with the single-sided swingarm are the sexiest 250s around.

And for 4 grand you could be looking at older Bandits, the very practical Accross, and all sorts of similar goodies.

One thing to consider: the RG150 will be more potent. The FX will almost certainly last longer, and won't require mucking around with adding oil and the like.
Look, it's an itsy bitsy Bandit.

This http://amiland.ww.co.nz/index2.htm was for sale dunno if it still is and he wanted around $4500 from memory. Certainly what I would go for if ti was my thing.

RS125's aren't exactly what you'd put at the top of a list of reliable commuter bikes for learners, though, are they.
