Cops that use bribery?

To get this incident put into the 'storm in a tea-cup' catagory would be require a considerable elevation of its true value.....

Had a bit of thought about what would have happened if this happened to me. All I can come up with is I'd be ever so thankfull that the ticket had been lowered and I had not had to kiss my licience and bike goodbye.
At the end of the day, the rider was breaking the law. The fact that the rider was asked to help dish out the dirt is irrelevant. I was stopped on the CBR several times during the first couple of thousand KM and asked if I knew such & such. I just looked at the officer and each time said sorry I don't. I was even stopped once buy an officer who actually thought I was such & such. Funny thing is I do know who it was they was after, but they did not know that. End of story really.

The first time I got burgled (loss in excess of $12,000) it took five days for the cops to turn up. The second time, it took about 20 minutes from the discovery of the theft (loss about $250) but only because when I reported the theft, the dispatcher must have got a little worried when I said the sole item taken was an air pistol.

Hey guys I think theres been a big misunderstanding and a waste of a cop bashing thread, not that I'm sexist, but its his female partner reporting her version of his version of events, she is a female, and obviously stil working through simple thought processing issues. I'm sure the partner (riding his harley) wasn't spinning conspiracy theories about cops, bribery etc. and more than happy to take a 130 over loss of licence, if any of this hapened at all.

Everything in life has 20% assholes, i don't believe that the cops don't have their pricks in the force.
As for paying to get a ticket lowered. Yep i would - get caught over 150 and your dead. Of course that brings up the topic of if you see flashing lights at 150+ on a bike do you stop - but that is discussed on other threads, so no point in refreshing it again.
I wouldnt. Run and Hide is my motto in that situation - but then again i am a moron so dont-do-what-donny-does.
So yes - corrupt cops in NZ, no doubt, worth worrying about - not really.
Its a part of life, you either deal with it and learn from it, or stew it over until you too become corrupt.
