We're picking up our camper van from their depot at Braybrook (I think that's the suburb). It's a Maui one. We're going to taxi to the depot as they'll refund the taxi fare (about $A45 from the airport). From there we're driving to the CBD and parking at the Victoria Markets, and walking to the bike shops in Elizabeth Street. (It's a big camper van and not able to be parked in a normal parking building.) Then taking a tram to Church Street to Ducati Melbourne, then tram back to the markets to collect the camper and then it's cruise down to Phillip Island. Anyone who wants to come with us to the Maui depot is welcome, but I'm not sure how long we'll be there sorting out the van. So it may pay for those who want to go to Elizabeth Street to get a shuttle bus straight there perhaps? Happy to take anyone down to the Island, but would probably not be leaving Melbourne till mid-afternoon at earliest.

Gixxer: thanks very much for the kind offer. I don't really NEED anything specific, but am keen to have a look at everything. We'll just wander round all the shops with eyes out on stalks, dribbling everywhere. Is MotoOne near the other Elizabeth Street shops? Is MotoOne the MV agent? Which is the best MV agent? Is Melbourne Ducati in Church Street the biggest Ducati shop?

Dave Milligan: note the meeting venue for Friday night - will catch up with you there. I'm sure Marknz will have your number on our list if we need to track you down.

    I'm getting REALLY EXCITED!!!.

Don't forget to pack, and wear, your KB t-shirts people! Hopefully it'll be warm enough to wear them without covering them up.

I think the Melbourne Ducati is the biggest, have not been there but there is not much else.
Moto one is MV, Duke and BMW. they are around 30min from town heading down the Nepean h'way.
From Vic Markets to Elizabeth street you would be better off taking a Tram, then Tramming back to Church then the Markets. the bike stores on Elizabeth are pretty centrally located to the heart of the city and is a long hike.Make sure the camper has a melways,

Oh yes, not too bad a place, except some little fungi between the toes, inconsiderate pimple on my arse, son of a motherless goat Australian decided to scratch up the right hand side of my fairings. the bike looked brand new except a dent in the tank, and then this. I felt like going postal.

    Hey Lynda,

Moto One (say "Hi" to Harold - actually Gary Holt, Kiwi been here for years) is not on the Nepean Hwy, it's on the Dandenong Rd in Oakleigh. It's approx 300 metres from the corner of Warrigal Rd which also intersects with the Monash Freeway. The Monash and the Dandenong Hwy both end up going thru Cranbourne.

When you depart Elizabeth St the best bet would be to head South on the Dandenong Hwy (shop people will give you directions or look at the Melways in your campervan) and when you cross the major intersection of Warrigal Rd Moto One is 300 metres in front of you, but on the right hand side so you will need to go to the next set of lights and do a U turn and they will be right in front of you.

    Kind regards
    Dave Milligan

I am off there too, will meet you all at bottom of street in Cowes.

I have a number of pit passes that may be of use - I got a few with my race entry - Lynda has already collared me! Condition is that you cheer for #19 in the 125 support race!!

We are heading up prob Wed and may be able to take a couple of people. Dave Milligan has organised me some transport. Next time you attend a PI meeting or a planning a trip to the IOM, check him out at www.getrouted.com.au - really nice guy and a kiwi too!

Tuesday is meant to be a flight in a Mustang at Melb - much faster than what I usually fly

Thanks Dave - if I get to Phillip Island and I'm on my own it'll be because Hamish has divorced me because of my navigation skills!

Hi there Dodgy - welcome to KB!

Cheer for you? They'll hear me cheering from Wgtn!

Will try giving you a call when we get to the Island (camper van groaning with the weight of all the Ducati accessories) on Thursday late avo/early evening.

    Enjoy the Mustang!
