Advice on Auckland Motor Cycle Club

Hi guys, any one here a member of the afore mentioned club. I saw on the counties racing website that they do semi regular trips to Pukekohe track and that there is an advanced rider training day coming up. So a few quick questions if I may:

1) is the advanced training day just a glorified open track session?
2) $140 for the day (includes free AMCC membership)...worth it?
3) what else does the club offer an infrequent weekend cruiser who wants a chance to open the taps occasionally without fear of loosing my licence?

I've been a member for about 18 months. Mainly I joined to get a race license but have found a few other benefits too.

They have an excellent clubrooms that are open every Thursday night and usually there's something going on down there so if you are into the social side of things that's pretty good. Oh, and there's a monthly newsletter that's usually a pretty good read too.

I did one of their track days a year or so ago and got some really good advice. I know Vince Sharpe and Paul Pavletich along with a few others will be instructing at this upcoming track day so I have signed up to do it.

Membership is more than $40 normally I think so it's a good deal to get a track day as well.

Any track day will only be a glorified open day if that's what you want it to be. You'll find with most that if you approach the instructors personally they'll be happy to work with you and you'll definitely get more bang for your buck.
