A universal dream of greatness is that
We push ourselves to the limit
Yet still be brilliant when the chips are down.
Sometimes , The struggle kills the dream.
Thank you Kerry. We are looking forward to hearing Nick has made a full recover eventually.
Tell him there is no need for him to rush back to work. We are keeping a careful citizens watch on our roads.

Good timing Kerry, as I was riding to work today thinking that we hadn't heard and I would ask BikeyCop for an update .... here you are gone and done it.
It struck me from your comments how little we really knew about Nick's condition. Yes we were grieving for his pain and suffering but perhaps we weren't fully aware that you and the rest of the family may have lost him.
Words are inadequate, so I'll stop.
Glad to hear Nick is coming right. Keep us updated, always sux to have a biker down!
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.
It takes a big man to cry...and an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
Thank you!
it has been probably the worst experience and the most shocking of our lives - I wouldn't wish it on anybody...
you are right, we almost lost him - and that just doesn't bear thinking about
he has such a long way to go, with no guarantees... his brain and body have suffered such a lot - but we see increasing amounts of his personality and humour coming through - it's still our Nick, thank god
It has hit me just how well thought of he is - both by people that know him and even those that don't - that is something special!
the people on this site have restored my faith in human nature! they are very special!
thank you!
Kerry
This is realy good news
Thanks For the update
Thanks for sharing Nick's milestones with us, Kerry. So glad to hear he's making excellent progress.
All Kiwi Bikers should take turns speeding up and down the road outside the hospital - that will soon get his ears pricked up and his ticket-book out.![]()
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!
Hi Guys and Gals,
Earlier today I went to see Nick in hospital.
He has made a remarkable comeback given how only a month ago he was on death's door.
He is now up walking (with a crutch) around the ward for short periods and is likely to be discharged next week for a stint at a rehabilitation unit in Pt Chevalier before going home to recuperate.
He is hoping to be back at work some time early next year, even if it is just light duties for a while. He is chatting and laughing and has maintained his sense of humour. He has minor memory problems with some things but that is nothing compared to how far he has come.
I'm sure we will see him back on the road soon (although probably not on a bike).
B.C.
That's really good to hear!
... and that's what I think.
Or summat.
Or maybe not...
Dunno really....![]()
Good to hear the news. Thanks
