Hey Nick you should be sleeping... I reckon the head that came through that accident needs all the rest it can get!

Incredible what you can put your brain/body through and still come out as a functioning human being. Horray for technology (gear, medical science) and hooray for willpower and survival instinct. Keep getting better, Nick.

I can't imagine what sort of imapct would do that much damage to a helmet. I've seen a couple that have hit the ground pretty hard, but that was something else. BMW / Schuberth obviously make 'em well.

But even worse, you're a Pommy traffic cop. A vestige of common sense is surgically removed before they let you into a pursuit car. (speaking as a Pom with too much experience of the boys in blue over there)

Nick, the fact that you're home, getting better, posting on here and making jokes about it is evidence that not only are you a tough bugger, but that you'll no doubt be back to full health in no time. I wish you strength and look forward to not seeing you in a professional capacity

    Hi Nick,

I've watched news here of your progress and having gone through a 2 year recovery myself after an off on the Harley I know how much you rely on mates, family, nurses and professionals to support you.

The kiwibiker family is exactly that as you have discovered. Incredible when you think about it, thousands of total strangers with one thing (at least) in common, who do give a shit. The strength you get from that simple fact will give you a huge boost, and you can count on more of the same as you come out the other end of your recovery.

Congratulations on getting this far and please keep us posted!

Nick it's great to hear your on the long rode to recovery, hang in there!.
A universal dream of greatness is that
We push ourselves to the limit
Yet still be brilliant when the chips are down.
Sometimes , The struggle kills the dream.

Just to add a bit of balance here...
C'mon Nick, stop lolligagging about and get back to work. Do you think the taxpayers here like keeping you in idleness? And I can put you onto someone who can fix that helmet up good as new.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
