    I need to slow down.

Before i start i just want vtr riders to know that im not being a smart arse.

Im currently on a 05 zx6rr. I currently have no licence due to being pinged at 143. Cheeky cop even got me 4hrs after he recorded my speed and rego. (the car behind me was caining it too). So this copa bust the car that was behind me, then comes and sees me at home later to give me a ticket and take my licence. Anyway im not after sympathy because i knew what i was doing and must live with the concquences. (do the crime, do the time)

I have been thinking that my bike loves going hard and is built more for the track than for the road,(Nothing groundbreaking there). Also i hate riding in sixth gear doing 110 kays, The bike is no fun there, I love ringing the shit out of it to be honnest. I cant afford the money or time to get into track riding, so maybe a change of bike?

Was thinking of a vtr 1000 as i do alot of open road long distance trips, my wife loves riding two up and i quiet liked having a pack rack in the past as they are bloody handy. If i put a pack rack on my zx6 i would proberbly get beaten up, (and rightly so). I also have an old knee injury that dosen't like sports bikes so much after an hr or so.

Im not saying vtr's are slow old person bikes, but are they less encouraging to cain? are they more comfortable on long distance? i assume they are great two up? can you happly sit on 110. I do know they sound bloody cool.

Or do i just have to pull my head in and ride like a nanna, show some self controll?

I dont think it would make any difference if your a habitual speeder mate.
I find that with having a big lazy motor, is that you find your speed creeps up even easier as it never feels as though the motor is working very hard.

My experience with the Vtwin, they dont go any slower, there is just no need to change gears as often.

No ofence but judging by you attitude you just need to learn to slow down, or do what I did and by a radar detector

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

You're not alone in thinking typical in-line 4 sprotsbikes are boring at legal speeds. I like big V twins for keeping your licence, one of the main criteria for me choosing a Buell. If you haven't ridden a VTR any distance give it a shot, one of the local shops should let you do an extended test ride.

Oh, and pull your head in anyway, nanas enjoy it longer.

    PS: Buell XB12S?
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

You answered your own question there...

Although it may not be as fast at the top end as the ZX6r the VTR is more than capable of riding at speeds of loosing your license... even if you are two up and fully laiden with luggage and as megageoff76 says it creeps up on you because you don't feel the pull... but you look down at your speedo and say shit I doing...

It'd be cheaper than the fines .... and how much time are you wasting catching the bus when you should be riding?

Get a 250, speeding problem solved ;D. At least if the adrenaline gets to you it'll take a while for it to get up to criminal speeds.

or maybe even getting a cruiser. With reguards to the vtr , i am we aware thay can go hard if you want but what i was getting at was how they like to be ridden. For example when i was 18 or so i had a mini GT1275 that i used to ring the poop out of as it was great fun for a $2000 car at a bit of speed. My next car was a chrysler Valliant Charger with a Hemi 265, extractors etc. I cruised around in the charger way slower than i did in the mini because of the feel and the experiance. Not because it was slower.
Thats kinda what im getting at.

This is the first speeding offence ive had and am trying to gear myself up to not repeat it but the zx6rr just hates doing a hunna on an empty, dry, open road. It's just a fact. im not being imature its just how it is.

Dont do that...the torque is addicting.I find i tend to go abit harder to get the same feel as a sprot bike...so in the end you end up going harder
