Biker down, Mission Bay Auckland, k6 gsxr600, Sunday 19 August 2007

just thought i'd let you guys know biker down this avo in mission bay....a guy by the name of joe blue/white leathers on a blue/white k6 gsxr600 fully stock. unsure of last name and unsure of condition all i know is he was rushed to hospital...and i helped his mate load the bike onto his ute, as if it was left on the side of the road it wouldve dissapeared...last thing u wanna be worrying about in hospital is your bike on the side of the road...( i sort of know them both but not very well....)

accident was on the median stripc between mission bay and the yacht club by bastion point....front wheel and front fairings headlight stay headlight etc ripped off....

as far as i can assertain(sp?) he hit a car while going up the median.

cant remember the rego sorry....

so yeah i'm hoping hes ok i know his mate nick was going to go see him at auckland hospital... we figured hes there...going to catch up with nick later to find out how he is and let you guys know ...

fuck. I met this guy a week ago at nicks place. Nick had just met him and told him if he kept riding the way he was he would go down, Nicks crazy in my books..

yeah nicks a mad bastard too i worry about that fella....but hey it's his cohice to ride how he does right...let me know if theres any news please...he only lives a few hundred metres from me so might og round there later.... he might be at hospital tho

Sh*t, that's just a couple mins from my place.

When you mentioned the median strip between the Yacht Club just below Bastion Point on Tamaki Drive, which direction was he in?

Towards the City or Mission Bay?

I take it he was probably traveling towards Mission Bay as on a fine Sunday like today people all head down to there for a meal.

Traffic during days like today especially around that bend just before you hit Mission Bay gets pretty slow and bikers usually hit the median strip to avoid it.

Hope you can tell me the whole story but already sorta sounds like an stupid accident he could've have avoided.

Boooo bloody hiss boo, I hate to read about this sorta thing. Really makes me cringe but at the same time is kinda good. A healthy reminder to us all to take it easy out there

I know the guy too (if it's the one I'm thinking of), and am afraid to say he rides like a f'ing loon. Only had a big bike a couple of months too.

(It's been a while since I've been abused on here).

I get sick and fuckin' tired of reading "Biker Down" threads like this where (by all accounts) the rider was an accident waiting to happen. This sort of shit makes the rest of us look like fuckwits.
