    Battle scars

Seems to be too many KB'rs going down lately (StoneChucker, Jazbug5, Zed.....)
Luckily i haven't hurt myself because of a motorcycle accident...touch wood, only youthful stupidity & hasty judgement gave me my scars.
Who has the most battle scars, broken bones, stitches, metal pins & other contraptions holding themselves together? Would it ever stop you from riding?
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

Best I can muster up is a scar on my right knee from a crash in 3/4 pants and a t shirt.

Got hit by a car the day after I bought my brand new CB750FC2 in 1986. It came out of the Wrightson's drive way in Waipuk. Tried to chop down and go round but too late. A typical " I didn't see you" hit (had the h/l on and the bike is red and white). Clean break of the tibea and fibea. Luckily I had full leathers on that held everything together otherwise the leg would have been much worse.

I occasionally get a slightly stiff neck, which could be related to a compressed wossname in my vertebra thingies that happened after I canned off on the motorway once.

Also, my leg still has a lumpy sore patch after I fell down while trying to be a five-year-old at the local playground some weeks ago. There was a motorcycle parked up on the road outside at the time, so I figure that one counts.

And then there are the deep-seated emotional issues about Telefonica racing teams which I just *know* I'm going to run head-on into when I buy my next motorcycle. Which, you see, will be black, and will therefore feature a notable absence of yellow chequered stripey bits over blue.

Bikes have screwed me up for good, man.

I've got a permanently bent little finger on my right hand from my first ever bin (earlier this year), I broke my pinky in 3 places. There's an old post about it with pics of the work in progress.

I'll have a scar on my right knee (when it heals and forms one that is), but apart from that nothing visible. Hope my sore neck is just temporary though.

    Motorcycling...
Cracked left floating rib from an off on a motorcross try out.
Cracked right rib from highside at Monza, plus scar on my left elbow from skin removal after I wore through the leathers in the ensuing slide.
Severe haematoma to both thighs, right forearm, left upper arm and shoulder, nerve damage to skin in both legs above knee which still hasn't repaired on right knee. My only RTA...bike versus tractor. My right patella was dented and still has the dent.
Triple fracture to base of thumb...Manfeild hairpin lowside....bike landed on hand. K wired...but wiring later removed.

    Other....
Fractured clavicle - rugby, then falling on stairs, then Judo. 3 breaks in 6 months.
Fractured big toe x 8 judo.
Damaged anterior cruciate ligaments right knee.....rugby....refereeing!!
Broken leg and ankle....rugby. Leg screwed back onto foot. Screw (sorry pin) later removed so I could go back and play rugby. Scar on both sides of right ankle.
Whiplash...rugby....don't try and hold both front rows up with your neck all on your own
various sprains, pulled muscles...dislocated fingers....all rugby amd judo.

and we won't go into the mental damage

No scars, no stiches, no pins (yet) one, possibly two broken bones. And a head that doesn't work properly 4 weeks on.

    at Motu's post. Good call!

For me? Just two small, round friction burn scars: one on my elbow & the other on my knee - 2 seperate accidents of the total 4 that I've been involved in.

My eyesight, memory, joints and mental health are all still intact. In fact, I think my motorcycle is definitely beneficial to my mental health. My teeth are all still in good working order, I only dye my hair because my natural colour is a bit boring (and No, it's not naturally grey yet ) and I'm unlikely to go bald, I've never had to buy new leathers because of mysterious shrinkage of my current ones, and I've never been able to put myself in a "full lotus" anyway.

#1 Broken thumb, #2 Broken scaphoid, #3 ruptured anterior ligament in ankle, #4 bruised knee (like black AND blue AND purple),#5 4 compression fractures for four vertebrae, head injury, resussed twice on way to hospital, swollen testicles (they don't make a good hammer for denting the back of the tank, no matter WHAT you read in erotic publications), torn spinae erector muscles, separated shoulder, thoracic outlet syndrome from the compressed T4 and T5 fractures. Oh and migraines and memory loss.

A tragic suit once bit the dust too. It was the eighties though.

life insurance only kicks in if you die...what I need is critical illness cover Unless I want to make my wife rich after I'm gone.

Only the thumb was ACC...all the rest were UK NHS or private health cover.

Oh yeah I forget (after readings Slim's post) I have a burn scar on my left arm from my exhaust. Got that when I was a very new rider.
