How'd they do on the whoops before that?

I'd say quite good actually, considering the speed and height involved in the accident. I believe the tank, frame and fairing would've taken more damage if I didn't have them. I'm not saying that they are the answer for protection but had it not been for them the other day I would've been repairing a lot of plastics. Instead the only damage was to my pride.

Not frame damage mate, which you are quite aware of, but rather a couple of scratches where the frame slid over the curbing on the side of the track.

My road NC30 came with a set which I was going to put on the track NC30, because I am a fan of crash bungs

I havent put them on yet because I dont like where they bolt up. they use a "spare" bolt hole on the front head, not the frame and these particular ones just bolt up to that. so the impact force goes straight to the head, breaks the lug off, and voila, oil and coolant potentially everywhere.

I intend to make up a mount back to an engine mount on both sides like the R & G ones do. havent gotten round to it yet so theyre still on my bench.

Meh, its a track only bike not a beauty queen.. a few scratches wont hurt it.

He made enough mods to it that it warranted an 'R' label (In your mind, not on the side of the bike) It was a sweet bike. I think he listed it on tardme as a SV1000R.
