    Weather checks

two sites that might be a bit of help when planning rides

for less forward checks (IE on the day/day-before of the ride etc)

is pretty damn comprehensive. unfortunately the rain radar is only for the top 2/3rds of the north island.

Or you can use the more common ones listed below

The MetVuw one is pretty good

    Long range ones

If it's a poll I vote for metvuw. Following a group to Methven from here in the deep south one Friday night, metvuw reckoned I'd hit heavy showers from Pleasant Point to just S. of Methven. Geared up in Timaru and sure enough heavy rain for about 30 km. Always check out metvuw for pretty good predictions. Cheers.
When you take thousands of photos of your bike does the light from the flash weaken the plastic?

    I like

    Fencepost.com
I did not know there are as many good sites for weather.
I like Fencepost because it is easy to negotiate has not let me down.
With this site to get the 12 day version you must join, but this is free.
It is also simple with % rain chance and weather warnings.
