Suzuki have always done this, they have no middleman in NZ, the Suzuki franchise is owned by Suzuki Japan. These sales affect all other brands as well, to maintain price parity. When you trade in a honda of equivalent type, the resale is determined by others in that class.
A free capitalisitic market.
Have you seen what you can pick up a second hand SV for these days![]()
Be the person your dog thinks you are...
No shit............you would think they would do a skinny deal at 20k just to get another number up.I sold Toyotas for 5/6 years way back and can remember my mate who worked at a Nissan dealership selling the odd new one for no profit, they claim it back from Nissan anyway, there used to be 12.5 % profit in a new car, wonder how much there is on a bike.
Be the person your dog thinks you are...
I'd give my left nut to buy a yammy FZ1 Fazer, its my bike through and through being the old cant that i am. but fuck me up the arse if i'm going to pay 19,000 for a semi naked all-rounder. fuckers!
Has anyone seen the 2008 Summerfest prices? Out now according to ad in Kiwi Rider...
Better to keep quiet and have people think you're stupid than open your mouth and prove it!
"No matter what bike you ride. It's all the same wind in your face"
Buy a classic.
Mine's worth ten times what any new bike is.
(Well, to me anyway).

I was having the conversation with a Honda dealer the other day.
Suzuki are fucked in the head. The suddenly drop their prices uber low, pricing all their competitors out of the market, and the loyal suzuki buyer, who just paid full retail price has just been shafted as far as resale value goes - therefore less money to spend on another suzuki, so he fucks off and buys something else.
Not very clever (or morale) busy practice really...
