well anyone who buys a suzi at non summerfest prices are a little ignorant.

    Suzi ALWAYS do summmerfest.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Just like the drz400sm. 11k-8k-11k. Golly.

Bit of a harsh lesson but you shouldn't buy a suzuki for its resale.

Exactly. And of course because they were at 8, resale of a less than a year old, less than 5,000kms became around $6k.

Plus, if you had paid 11, and wanted to sell, you'd be a bit farked off and go buy a Honda instead.

Suzuki are fucked in the head. The suddenly drop their prices uber low, pricing all their competitors out of the market, and the loyal suzuki buyer, who just paid full retail price has just been shafted as far as resale value goes - therefore less money to spend on another suzuki, so he fucks off and buys something else.

Not very clever (or morale) busy practice really...
Well, the re-seller is only shafted for the period of the summerfest, couple of months after that its prices as usual.

Don't sell your near new Suzi around summerfest I guess?

I think summerfest is a good incentive, other manufacturers should follow suit & be competitive, and as far as auto-makers go, there are others with much worse moral standings then suzuki...

Nah, because everyone remembers. 'werent those 8 grand?'
When In theory my DRZ has a total retail value of $13.5k, now, 6 months old, and 7k on the clock, I should be able to sell for 8k, but because they were discounted to 8k, it pushes the value of mine to 7 absolute tops.

Well, when it comes to the DRZ, there's absolutely ZERO reason they are worth more than 8K to start with.... The technology is old, the componentry isn't exactly mind blowing and it's restricted to the hilt...

Don't buy Suzuki? Only buy if you are planning on holding onto the bike for a good period of time?

On the other hand, it is an ideal situation for the second hand market & buyers such as myself. I have no beef with Summerfest.

It's like the housing price crash. Sucks a bit if you already owned one, but great news for people like me who were thinking about buying

A smart person would rely on the Summerfest coming next time if they wanted a Suzuki. Anyone that has the cash to buy the latest model to have the very latest model to show off will just have to accept it depreciating to a point where it'll cost more to update to the very next model.

I'm glad my taste in bikes has stayed around the '03-'05 era.
