While we're at it I'm after a place to get a 96 zx6r key cut too. No shop I've been to so far seem to have the right blank for it!
ya need the correct blankis for ya keys. probably a franchise dealer will cut keys for ya.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
I was thinking the same thing but got home to late to ring them. Was in the cage stuck in traffic. The Duc dealer in ham might know some one.![]()
Mitre 10 couldn't cut a key for my bike either, I guess they dont' have that much of a selection. But the local locksmith was able to read the number off the old key and cut a new one based on specifications from the factory rather than just copying the old worn out key. I thought that was pretty cool
I suggest just try phoning some locksmiths places and seeing if they can do it.
OH CRAPP........ I need a spare key too... must get one cut by tomorrow... who's your local locksmith???
I went to Auckland Lock Services http://www.aucklandlock.co.nz/ down in New Lynn.Originally Posted by justsomeguy

Reactor Online. Sensors Online. Weapons Online. All Systems Nominal.
Go to a proper Locksmith - you can just give them the serial number and they don't even need to key itself.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.
Thats what is required as they have the skills and know how. Plus if it does not work they will sort it out for free...Originally Posted by woody68

Does the ignition have to be on to pull start a Duc?
Does the Duc come with a Engine imboliser system like the Honda HISS? The keys have a magnetic code and the two have to match else the engine gets imobilised... basically I can't just get a lock smith to cut a key it won't work...
Costs about $300 odd buts to get a new key... (luckily I have a spare already)
just a thought thought...
Yes the ignition has to be on
No they dont need a fancy immobiliser key, well maybe the new ones do but not a 90s one.
I was lucky mine came with a spare so havn't had to consider it further.
My experiences with getting keys cut I wouldnt go back to Mitre 10, their machines seem alot less automated as far as copying the old key and dont seem to work as well as one from a proper locksmith.
