Whitford to Maraetai roads, who was the enthusiastic rider!?

Today I had the most enthusiastic wave ever, in the world. I didn't catch the bike, too busy missing loose metal (it's everywhere out there!!), but I was going along on the way to Maraetai (on mah 250 GPX) when this guy on a fairly modern looking bike going at a decent speed gave me the most enthusiastic wave and I think an incredible thumbs up.. I didn't expect it at all and laughed my ass off.

So thanks whoever that was, really brightened up an already nice day!

Sorry for pointless post, just felt like sharing the great feeling I always get when riders *really* acknowledge a 250/newbie .. makes us/me feel validated ;P

I think you mistook his wave, he was raising his digitus impudicus towards you and telling you to get off the road!

Nah, good to hear you started a waving thread again, 'cause it's been a while! I think I can hear McJim's duchess of doomy doom revving up to blast you from your heathen heretical domicile!

Well it's not exactly a wave thread, I just thought it was hilarious, and might make other people smile by reading it.

Don't listen to him You got a real kick out of it and I thank you for sharing. Some people are just a little uncomfortable with good-news stories. It'll pass .

Isn't this the road SkidMark posted a warning about earlier?

Oh, sorry I didn't see a warning post..
Yeah, I wouldn't be suprised - it's fucking shocking. Half of the area's don't have signs and there are literally patches of loose metal at LEAST an inch thick. I was video'ing at the time but I doubt I'll be putting it up any time soon (wonderful NZ internet).

I'd throw caution to Twilight Road as well, it's all very, very dodgy.

/Edit sorry, he was talking about Twilight Road. The road from Whitford to Maraetai is even worse.. everyone riding, especially newbies like myself should be very cautious in taking turns, who knows where the trucks, etc, have thrown the loose metal by now.

Hehe I had a dude do a massive wave at me on the Southern motorway on the way back from Taupo with obstacle's new Hornet. He had both hands off the bars doing the raver finger thing.

Got a pretty decent selection of thumbs ups etc from dudes overtaking me while I was following the trailer. I'm sure they were all wondering why the hell I was adhering to the speed limit as they whizzed by at 120+.

    Good post Zeo.

I was cruising Tga > Hamilton the Thurs afternoon and saw a CB250RS being enthusiastically punted along towards Hinuera, and seconds later a newish VT750 Cruiser, doing just that, cruising toward Cambridge from Rotorua way, and I couldn't help wondering if they were KB'ers crossing paths, not knowing that each other were...
