Yes, the GZs are *soooo* much better than the XV250s. Nice choice. I rather liked the one I had on loan for a few days a while back.

I really want a Yamaha Road Warrior for those times when I want to go for a long ride at my own pace.

Cruisers are just another bike, and most anyone who rides a bike is alright by me.

I still want an FXDWG. It's the bike I always slobbered over as a kid. If I'm ever filthy rich and can afford a cruiser as well as a 'main bike', I'll have one. I'm sure they won't have changed much by then, either...

A troll poll with no bail-out response option. Brilliant!

If you're a xenophobic, sportbike riding squid, then completing this piece of idiocy will probably be easy.

I often wonder whether cruiser abusers have ever ridden one, or paused to consider why Harley Davidson (not that I'm defending these) is the most recognised motorcycle brand name on the planet?

So much for the "brotherhood of bikers". Ride what you like, like what you ride.

Yes, it lacked a 'keep it and ride it occasionally' option, didn't it?

But then, I *would* sell it immediately. I probably wouldn't even buy any other bikes with the funds, either. I need them too much for boring stuff.

    Indeed.

Perhaps we could institute an informal forum code of "no nonsense about the 'cruiser vs. sportbike people' question". Other mature motorcycling forums have generally laid such silliness to rest a long time ago.

I knew a guy who won a new sportster once - he was a huge mountain of a man, drunk continuously and covered in tats, the perfect Harley owner. They took some photos and a video of him riding it,then it was sold - as jrandom says, other bills are more important than image.

I wouldn't go out and purposly buy a cruiser....but I never go out and purposly buy any bike, they just ...happen....I can't control it,bikes are attracted to me,like small furry animals and pretty girls - I just live with it.One day I might move to a cruiser for the fat low seat....but not yet.

Eh? most of my bills are caused by 'image' related items (took me ages to pay for my tassled leather jacket after I got laid off from the freezing works but I perservered)- and the 'other' ones can wait !!
Maybe I need to grow up? but then if you grow up you grow old, if you grow old you die!

    P.S. a few minutes later:

Damn!! beautiful day down here, thought I'd take the bike for a ride and 'do' lunch with Mrs SD and wouldn't ya know it - the rego's run out - ANOTHER image related bill.

Hmmm... can I have the option that says "Give it to Mrs Yo"? Cos she likes the cruisery type bikes - when I was looking for my bike, she always pointed out the GZs and Viragos and things... But see, I don't like pointy bikes either. I'd buy a Triumph Sprint ST, cos it sits between the 2...

I'm torn. If I can't have the Give it to Mrs Yo option then I guess I have to go the sell it option... for a dollar, to Mrs Yo. heh.

Weird how we look at things though, eh? I don't think I'd get anywhere as near the enjoyment out of my bike as I do if it was a cruiser - not because the riding experience would be that much difference (2 weeks riding, waddooeyeno?) but because I sometimes catch myself thinking how I would look from a birds eye view. Then again, I also think about strapping the guitar to the back ala Peter Fonda...

    *shrug* too hard basket.

As I already have 3 bikes my fourth would be a trials bike.
I would have a cruiser as a 5th bike for those sunny hot days when you feel like riding real slow enjoying the vibe. But then I would also have a compulsory no cars on the roads at all day to enjoy riding a cruiser on. I have ridden a couple of Harley's and found the scum of society checking you out when you ride by (probably dreaming of ways to steal it) when they would show no interest when I'm on my Japper.

My bike was very cheap and if I wanted to upgrade and get another bike, I'd buy another cruiser, I like all bikes, but particularly like cruisers, they are not built for speed or peformance, but made for a lesuirely comfortable ride, who has a problem with that???

    right said fred!

Why not have one of each? (or more)
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
