    Another new bike.

    Hi,

My mate has just brought himself his first bike, a 95 kdx200. She's in good condition for the age, and was just serviced by Mr Motorcycles.

We've got a couple of quick questions.

What fuel mix is it best to use on the bike, and is the any oil they prefer? The owner has been running it at 40:1, but I thought they were to be run at 32:1, and I didn't recognize the 2t oil, looked cheap (but has brand new piston and rings).

Also can't tell what is on, off and res on the fuel switch, any ideas.

    Thanks

The manual for the KDX says to run it at 32:1 which is what i used to run mine at with motul comp 2t and I never had any problems, but i'm sure with a good oil 40:1 will be fine as well. I cant quite rember what the direction to turn the tap in, I think looking from underneath clockwise is on, anti clockwise is reserve and off is in the middle?

    hey rupecopp,

a kdx is a wicked bike for the money. it's bullet proof and easy to work on.

a few mods will extract tons more power from it. if they haven't happened already: replace the stock pipe with an FMF gnarly pipe, and a power core 2 silencer. get a good racing air filter and drill holes in the top of the air box. then pop off and get some boyeson power reeds.

a useful website for KDX stuff: http://kdxrider.net/forums/

As for the petrol tap - Anticlockwise: down is ON, front pointing to the handlebars is OFF, up is RES.

    enjoy

Yeah be there for the morn.

I know cyclethreads is open, but I find them a bit expensive.

Might have try the old gummies.
