Where Did You Ride - Sunday 16 Sept

Brother-in-law Stevedee and I got away about 9am and headed over the hill, coffee at Martinborough, then Longbush Road back around to Carterton. Coffee again. Then Ponatahi Rd back to Martinborough where we swapped bikes. I rode the z750 and though I have been on it half a dozen times or so, each time I pickup on a different aspect: having the Givi screen put on my Hornet this week was most noticeable when I switched to the Zed. And, looking in the rear view mirror of the zed, the Hornet did look 'kewl' must say.

    Heads up and Enjoy

Rode back from the Pissed Penguin rally near Balclutha, did a bit of a back road detour to get off SH1 and did my longest ride to date of a whole 110 km (yay). Oh and the bike clocked over 10,000 km (only 400 of which are mine)

Today i did Massey - Grey Lynn - Titirangi - Huia Dam - gravel rd to Whatipu - back to Titirangi - New Lynn - Te Atatu - Massey. I was only supposed to go to grey lynn then titirangi but i figured it's be ok if i got a bit 'lost'. All up and 300km's this weekend. I figure that's ok for the first weekend with a bike.

Well having pulled my bike half apart to see if I could modify the rear and make it a low rider hard tail I couldnt get the suspension back on just on my own. My cousin came around at around noon and helped me get them back on. Then, being such a sunny day in Christchurch road down Blenhiem Road right into the center of the city, stopped at a friends and gave her some photos, and then made the trip back home. Aaaa.. such a nice day for riding in just a jeans and tshirt. Wish I had bought a skull cap already...

Cant wait until the Little River Rally!

Today I had a nice little jaunt up to Wellsford on SH16 with Eviltwin (07 ZX10), Biggles08 ('98 ZX9R), Blade1000 ('05 Fireblade) and my bro on his Fireblade 954. Company arrived in the shape of Bungee (Mt Eden M/C spannerman) on his 07 ZX10R, and Richard Driver (ex Radio with Pictures host, Hip Singles/Pop Mechanix frontman and TV mogul) on his sweet Cagiva Raptor. Compulsory beer stop at the surprisingly open pub in Wellsford before turning around and going back home. Nice one boys!

Rode home from the Pissed Penguin Rally in Kaka Point to home in Dunedin.
Stopped at the Dirty Duck (aka the Black Swan) in Waihola for brekkie, they were doing a roaring trade with hungry bikers on the way home.

Then just couldn't stop so we jumped back on the bike and headed up to Moeraki just for the hell of it.

Any where we stopped we kept bumping into people heading home from the rally or KBers who were just out for a run.
I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

I did the wellsford via parakai / helensville ride yesterday afternoon. Started off fine in akl and got wet in wellsford. Had my daughter on the back and she loved it. Today i took my son out for a blast, just into the city from Massey and up to Oteha Valley, up the old Albany hill and round the Coatesville Rd to Puhoi....whoever passed me going the other way along coatesville rd and gave me the 2 hands thumbs up - thanks mate, put a big smile on my dial that i really needed.

    Nothing this weekend

But I did go for a ride around the bays on Thursday with a few mates from work. I had a Pillion for the trip so allowed me to practice riding a bike that handled like a fridge.

Over the past week I also fitted a centre stand to the bike, and have managed to scrape it on a few corners (once with my Pillion) Have also done a bit of practise on an unsealed road.

Looks like the weather is finally starting to behave itself
