    Neck brace - interesting

While I whipped to BTO to find the Ankle brace on the other thread I stumbled on these:
    http://www.btosports.com/p/EVSRC3

No where near in the league of the Leatt. But look better than the spongey things or nothing. Might be a go if you can't afford the $900-00 or $1200 Leatt and they look like they might work ok as well. Definatly might look at them for my kids.

I thought of bringing some in but all in the interests of safety I thought I'd just post it!

    Wadya think guys!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

Ye I have been concerned as I still have a bit of whiplash from the VTR1000 accident. But the Leatt prices are just not viable as I need 3. One for me and the two boys. Be a bloody slack father just buying one for myself. And I can't fit $3600-00 or even $2700-00??? for 3 Leatt clubs in my budget.

Maybe we should club together and I'll email my guy at BTO and see if I can get a deal on a few of them.

I'll see how much interest this thread generates for a few days and then suss it out.
Meantime I'll drop an email to the the guy I bought my stuff off at BTO and see about their stock etc
In my view at this price they look like you'd be silly not to have one, but you can't tell about quality from a pic.

I think you'll find these are not too different to the standard donunt only difference being the neoprene flaps at the back that attach to your body armour to hold the donut in place, i guess to stop the donut from spinning around.

Damn it looked to me like the back was a plastic cradle type thing. But looking closer you might be correct. Not so good for me as I wear Azonic under my shirt.
Even so it still looks like it might fit across the shoulders better and is shaped a bit more towards supporting the helmet front and rear from impacts.
I'll ask about this as well.

I got one of those cheap ones after I have a bit of a spill last year and though money well spent, but its shit I've tried to use it once and found it rubbish. Mind you this is one of the ones that like a foam u with a velcro strap. The problem is that you can't move your head very well with it on. I found it really restricting.

Mind you those ones look much better.

I wonder how long till some cheap Chinese copy of the leatt comes out.....

Cheese I would think they would have the copyrights pretty well tied up so I wouldn't hold out for it. Its a brand new individual idea so might be hard for someone to do a copy and not make it dangerous and expose themselves to risk. If someone was going to copy it we may have seen them by now.

We used the ones on the pic attached in Karting. You can get thick and thin ones. Yours must have been to thick. I can see how they get in the way in MX but they where good in a kart.

Have emailed some more questions to my guy, see what he says about the fitting and cost. I don't really want the hassle as I am busy as, but thought for the benifit of all, this may fill a safety gap.

neck rolls are made for mx by a number of manufacturers, EVS's on is pretty bulky, thor do a nice one and so do pcs, this new one form evs looks interesting tho

the leatt brace also restricts movement, and some people do not like it

i have got onto something which is inbetween, in price and comfort, i hope to have them by late november
