    Stupid cage drivers

Right so had a small episode today,

Had the day off work today and notice the weather was just too good for me not to go for a ride!. So off i set decided to go for a run through town, newmarket, Mission Bay!.

All was successful untill riding back from mission bay along tamaki drive just as you come over that little bridge thingy before the mini golf place, When this stupid women drives up along side me and starts pulling into my lane!! (She was in the left and i was in the right lane heading towards the city)

She obviously saw me as she was the one who drove up next to me, So anyhow she's changing into my lane and trying to push me on the other side of the road so i beeped (with the little horn my babyblade has) but she would have still herd it considering her window was fully down. There was oncoming traffic so just gassing it down the wrong side of the road to safety was not an option infact i had no option either get nailed by her or have a head on with oncoming traffic!! (Please note there was a car right infront of me so i was boxed in or couldn't just brake super hard with fear of a huge lock up!)

So within that couple of seconds which felt like Matrix slow motion i had to do something, So i did the first thing that came to mind as i felt death creeping up and sitting on my shoulder. I put my foot out and proceeded to break her wing mirror, Funny enough this solved the problem she jumped right back in the lane where she should have been, I felt like making her pull over and abusing the living bergeezzeezz out of her but calm i stayed and carried on with my journey.

I have a question for you guys and girls, Did i do the right thing? was breaking the wing mirror on a late model audi the best option considering my circumstance? it did seem to work after all

Fair enough, u tried to make her aware of you and that didn't work. If there is no other way to escape and a boot to the door or mirror will save you then go for it. Or even better, if you can reach just punch her in the face.

    Yes and Yes.

A fist or palm banged onto the roof of the car also works == a very loud bang inside the vehicle. Plus if you are lucky you can leave a nice big dint.

    Did you get the rego?

Dont worry about dude. If you had of killed her I doubt anyone would be crying about it. Least of all bikers.

If she thought she had the right to push you out of your lane into on comming traffic/certain death then she deserves everything she got/gets.

I hope the wing mirror is incredibly expensive to repair.

I have had an experience like this.

I was driving along and a lady started to change into my lane right next to me, I moved over to get out of the way and being on a 250 couldnt exactly speed up, and I had a car behind me so I couldnt brake. She pushed me over into the right hand side of my lane, almost to the center of the road so I knocked on her driver side window. She got the shock of her life and did the quickest lane change back into the other lane I have ever seen.

If she had of had a Jesus bar in her car I think she would have used it.

I have no sympathy for drivers like this. How hard is it to look at where your going to go and making sure its clear before you go?

I have only ever experienced this sort of driving once. 30 years ago this december in Wellington, I found that a heavy boot can dent the door of an almost new Falcon.

I also know that the woman driver saw me and decided that she deserved my lane more than I did.
    Time to ride

I also had an incident like this, They knew I was there too. When they stopped at the next interestion I rode along side them and tapped the drivers window. This guy ( with wife telling him off) locked all the doors and closed his window. he knew what he had done.
Wish I had broken his late modle BMW mirror off like you did.

    More bikers should!

Take a chill pill and go for a ride. The "Manic Ducati Smile" effect will kick in after just a couple of K's.

    Works for me

Had a private bus do exactly that to me on the motorway. If they just drift over or chop lanes it's bad enough but to come from behind and do it is total bullshit and a call for any means required to stop you from being run over.

That said I work on the premise that they might react in an unpredictable way (freak out and swerve into you either on purpose or by mistake etc) so I save kicking the door as a last resort.
